Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Sylux Boss Battle Guide – How to Beat, Tips and Tricks

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sylux Boss Battle Guide

Sylux returns as the main enemy in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, continuing his long-running rivalry with Samus. After appearing earlier in the series of Metroid Prime, he steps into the spotlight this time and makes his presence known right from the start of the game. At first, Sylux does not seem too difficult to handle, but the fight quickly becomes more challenging when he switches to a special attack known as the green spin attack, which can’t be damaged in the usual way with Samus’ missiles and beams. In this Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sylux Boss Battle Guide, we will show you how you can beat Sylux easily.

How to Beat Sylux in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

During the opening phase of the fight, Sylux uses basic attacks that are fairly manageable. He sends out green energy waves and attempts close-range strikes. The best approach here is to keep moving, jump over the shockwaves, dodge sideways, and hit him with charged beam shots and missiles whenever you have a clear opening.

But things would change once Sylux loses about 25 pc. of his health. At this point, he begins using a green spinning attack. While spinning, he becomes completely immune to Samus’ beams and missiles, and the attack does not stop on its own. If you keep firing normally, it won’t have any effect.

To make Sylux bring out of his spinning move, you must use Psychic Bombs. Press Y to switch into Morph Ball mode, then press A to drop a bomb. Landing several bombs on Sylux will stun him and force him back into his normal attack pattern.

Even after being interrupted, Sylux may return to the spin attack later in the fight. Whenever this happens, repeat the same strategy: switch to Morph Ball, use Psychic Bombs, stun him, and then continue attacking as usual.

Sylux moves very quickly while spinning, and his path can be difficult to predict. To make things easier, stay close to the outer edge of the arena. Move in a circular route along the wall and drop bombs as he passes nearby or prepares to rush toward you.

Rewards for Beating Sylux

When you hit Sylux with enough firepower, drain all of his health, and kill him, you will come to know that Samus was not fighting the real boss, Sylux, but a projection controlling a standard droid. Even so, the battle is worth completing. As a reward, players receive an Energy Tank, which permanently increases Samus’ maximum health by 100. This will help you in your future endeavours.
