While exploring the world of Viewros in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, players will come across inactive machines known as Scout Bots. These robots appear once in every major region, but they won’t do anything at first. When powered on by using a Thunder Shot, a Scout Bot scans its entire area, updates you, and shows the locations of any important items you have not collected yet. All Scout Bot Locations in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Below is a description of the locations of Scout Bots.
Scout Bot 1
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 1 in the Fury Green Area.
The first Scout Bot is located in Ancient Path. You will come across it naturally as you move through Fury Green for the first time, so it is very hard to miss.
Scout Bot 2
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 2 in the Volt Forge Area.
This Scout Bot sits on a small side platform near the Morph Ball route that leads toward the second generator. Look towards the path as you move through the area to see it.
Scout Bot 3
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 3 in the Ice Belt Area.
In the Snowfield section of the Ice Belt, you will find this Scout Bot standing right in front of a pile of discarded machinery.
Scout Bot 4
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 4 in the Flare Pool Area.
After crossing the lava beneath Lava Lake Bridge, move across the narrow channel nearby. Check along the rock wall in that area, and you will find the Scout Bot waiting there to be picked.
Scout Bot 5
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 5 in the Great Mines Area.
On Level 3 of the Great Mines, shortly after Samus and VUE-995 are separated, you will enter Main Shaft – Level 3. Once the large door opens, you will see a huge Maul Griever cocoon. While facing the cocoon, you need to see on your left. The Scout Bot is tucked away in the corner.
Scout Bot 6
Location: You will find the Scout Bot 6 in the Sol Valley Area.
Start from just outside the Volt Forge entrance and move north along the western edge of Sol Valley. You will notice glowing Psychic Platforms that lead to a small, isolated land section. The Scout Bot is positioned near the edge of that area.
How to Activate Scout Bots
Finding a Scout Bot is not enough, as you cannot use it, and you will need the right upgrades to turn it on.
First, you must unlock the Thunder Shot. This weapon becomes available during your third visit to Volt Forge, after you have already obtained the Psychic Grapple. The Psychic Grapple itself is earned by defeating the final boss in Flare Pool.
Once you have the Thunder Shot, return to any Scout Bot and follow these steps:
- Fire one Thunder Shot at the Scout Bot to power it up
- Activate the Psychic Visor and scan the bot
After this, a short scene will play showing the Scout Bot scanning the surrounding area.
Once the scan is complete, the Scout Bot shuts down permanently. From that point onward, your map will display small orange cross markers showing the locations of all uncollected upgrade items in that region.
These markers highlight important collectibles, including:
- Energy Tanks
- Missile expansions
- Shot upgrades
This makes Scout Bots incredibly helpful for looting and 100% completion.
