Metal Gear Solid Delta Food Locations Guide

In Metal Gear Solid Delta, you can find and eat different types of food. If you are a trophy/achievement hunter, you will want to eat all the game has to offer because it will unlock the Gastronome trophy/achievement along with the EZ Gun weapon for you, which not only stuns enemies but also comes with infinite ammunition. If you played the original release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the food locations are still the same as in that particular release. Food Locations Guide – Metal Gear Solid Delta

You will need to find 48 different food items and eat them in order to complete your collection. Simply collecting is not enough for it, and you have to eat it in order to mark them complete in your progress towards the trophy/achievement. Below, we have detailed the locations of all food items in their order of appearance in the game. Since there is no way of re-visiting completed chapters, you will need to complete them all in a single playthrough, because if you miss one, you cannot go back to it until you start a new playthrough.

Location #1: Dremuchij South

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Frog B	Tree Frog	When you receive your backpack, return to the starting area and look for a small patch of grass where this frog is hopping around. Check on the right side of the big log where you initially crawled from.
Mushroom C	Siberian Inkcap	In the same area, go to the log that you crawled to get the backpack and look at the trees on its left and right side.
Mushroom A	Russian Oyster Mushroom	In the same area, check the tree stump on the left side of the log.
Snake H	Reticulated Python	Check for it in the location where you got your backpack
Snake G	Giant Anaconda	It is found near the exit of the starting area, where you get your backpack.
Fruit B	Russian False Mango	Look for it in the trees in the same area where you got your backpack.

Location #2: Dremuchij Swampland

Indian Gavial	Easily found in the swamp area. Kill one with a knife, collect its meat, and eat it to add it to your collection
Hornet’s Nest	In the middle of the swamp, there is a small island. The Horner’s Nest is located there on a tree.

Location #3: Dremuchij North

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Fruit C	Golova	You will find it hanging from a tree near the first patrolling guard of this area
Bird E	Sunda Whistling-Thrush	Located directly below the previous fruit in a patch of grass. You will need to shoot it from a distance because it will get spooked and fly away if it sees you up close
Fruit A	Yabloko Moloko	From the entrance of the area, go North and go beyond the area where you found Fruit C. Here, you will find these red fruits hanging from the trees. This is close to the area where the second guard patrols
Bird D	Magpie	Face the North exit and go right and down to a larger patch of grass. The bird is sitting inside it. Shoot it from a distance to collect it.

Location #4: Rassvet

Rat – You will find the rat in the same location where you meet Sokolov. Look for a small opening in the wall next to some crates. This opening has a few rats, and you can shoot them and then eat them to add to your collection.

Location #5: Dremuchij East

Medicinal Plant	C Med	Head to the right edge of the area, and you will find this purplish flower on the ground
Medicinal Plant	Disinfect	In the middle of the area, there are two logs, and you will find this yellow flower between the two logs
N/A	Flying Squirrel	Now look at the trees around the middle section of the area, where you will find the Flying Squirrel jumping between trees

Location #6: Dremuchij North

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Snake F	Green Tree Python	Right at the starting area, jump down from the ledge and look up ahead in the trees to find it. Shoot it down and add it to your inventory before moving past it

The next set of Food Items can only be collected until you clear some story progress because you lose your weapons and gear after this section. Once you have your gear back, you can return to this section and complete the remaining Food Items. If you are playing on Very Easy difficulty, the EZ Gun will remain in your inventory so you can resume adding Food Items without any issue, even if your gear is taken from you.

Snake A	King Cobra	Move along the story path, and you will find this big snake up ahead in the grass patch. This is the location of the two guards.

You can now go back to Dremuchij South by taking the southwest exit to collect some more Food Items there.

Location #7: Dremuchij South

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Medicinal Plant	Splint	Before using the log to crawl to the area ahead, look on the left side, and this is right there at the base of a tree
N/A	Markhor	In the starting area of the Virtuous Mission, and crossing the log, you will find it up ahead. You will need to use your knife to collect its meat.
N/A	European Rabbit	It is found in the same location as the Markhor, just a little further from it.
Medicinal Plant	Styptic	Climb over the log in the area and check the base of the trees in the back right corner. It is a small green plant.

After collecting these, you can head back to Dremuchij North and use the Northern exit to continue the story.

Location #8: Dolinovodno

There is a Hornet’s Nest in this area that we need for another food item later in the game. You do not have to eat this one because we have already eaten it previously in the swamp. When you enter the area, you will see a guard ahead by the bridge. Right above him, there is a Hornet’s Nest that you can shoot down and scare off the guard. Pick it up, do not eat it, and save it for later.

Location #9: Chyornyj Orud

Snake D	Coral Snake	Right at the start of the area, look for this slithering near the water on the right side
Snake E	Milk Snake	From the starting spot, go left this time around, and you will find it near the water.
Frog A	Otton Frog	Check the shallow water on the left side, and you will find it swimming there.
Frog C	Poison Dart Frog	Check the same shallow water section in the middle for it.
Fish C	Arowana	Now head over to the central west section towards deeper water. Shoot it to collect it.

Location #10: Bolshaya Past Base

Food	Russian Ration and Calorie Mate	Found inside the small storage room where you get the mouse traps

Location #11: Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
N/A	Kenyan Mangrove Crab	Found right at the start of the area.
Snake B	Taiwanese Cobra	From the starting area, turn right and go ahead until you reach the end. The snake is located here, next to a skeleton.
Mushroom E	Russian Glow Cap	This is located right next to the snake you just collected.
N/A	Vampire Bat	Go to the room filled with water and up the path to crawl through the tunnel. At the end of this tunnel is a room filled with bats.

For the next set of Food items, you need to head back to the Chyornaya Peschera Cave. To do so, head to the start of the cave, which is the room before the waterfalls. Look for a crawlspace at the bottom of the cave wall before the corridor and use it to reach the end of the cave.

Location #12: Chyornaya Peschera Cave

Remember the Hornet’s Nest that we stored in our inventory for later use? We will be using it here. During the boss battle with The Pain, you must equip the Hornet’s Nest as a weapon and wait for The Pain to use his attack, where bees swarm you and stick to your body. Once this happens, the Hornet’s Nest will become The Pain Hornet’s Nest, and you can eat it to add it to your collection.

Location #13: Ponizovje South

Fish B	Maroon Shark	When you start this area, you will find it swimming right in front of you. Shoot the fish to collect it and eat it.
Fish A	Bigeye Trevally	This fish is also swimming in the same area. Look for a smaller fish than the first one, shoot it, and eat it.

Location #14: Ponizovje Warehouse: Exterior

N/A	Cobalt Blue Tarantula	These are found on the wall near the door where the boss, The End, goes through.

Location #15: Ponizovje Warehouse

N/A	Instant Noodles	Inside the warehouse, travel to the first floor and enter the door on the left side to pick it up.

Location #16: Graniny Gorki South

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Mushroom D	Fly Agaric	After dropping down, go straight, and you will find these at the base of a tree

Location #17: Graniny Gorki Exterior: Outside Walls

Bird C	Red Avadavat	Right at the start of the area, you will find this bird in the small grass patch up ahead.

Location #18: Graniny Gorki South

Go to the entrance of Ponizovje Warehouse and place some mouse traps there. Keep checking here to see if you have caught some Tsuchinoko. You will need to catch one, and then quickly manually save the game. After saving the game, eat it, and then load the save file to continue.

Location #19: Svyatogornyj South

Mushroom F	Spatsa	At the starting area, look at the base of the first tree to find it right ahead of you.
R. Vegetable	Vine Melon	Before going up the slope, check the middle area, and you will find it hanging from a vine
Mushroom G	Baikal Scaly Tooth	This is found on the base of the trees.

Location #20: Svyatogornyj West

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Mushroom B	Ural Luminescent Mushroom	Turn left from the start and cross the grass patch to find the mushroom at the base of the tree next to the fallen log.

Location #21: Sokrovenno South

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Bird A	Parrot	As soon as The End boss fight begins, you will find it at a tree stump. Shoot it quickly to collect it.

Location #22: Krasnogorje Mountain Base

Food Type	Food Name	How to Get
Snake C	Thai Cobra	At the start, drop down the ledge, move forward, and then turn right to see the snake on the ground.
Bird B	Vulture	It is sitting on the left side cliff.
N/A	Emperor Scorpion	They are found in the same area. Look around the ground to find them.

Location #23: Tikhogornyj

After The Sorrow boss battle completes, move towards the waterfall and watch the EVA cutscene. After getting your equipment back, go back outside and turn left to see your Tsuchinoko. This is the same one you caught earlier, but since you got your equipment back, you have to catch it again. Add it to your inventory to unlock the Infinity Face Paint at the end of the game.

Location #24: Rokovoj Bereg

Snake K	Snake Solidus	Found near the logs on the ground. You can use the thermal goggles to identify them.
