How to Get the Best Pins in Psychonauts 2
Before you can get the Pins, you need to unlock them. This can be done when you first reach the Motherlobe and then complete a few missions until you have access to Otto’s shop. Complete the tutorial mission and then you will have the ability to purchase Pins from the store.
Depending on your rank or how many Psi ability upgrades you have, you might not have access to the best Pins in the shop. This means that you should first buy Pins that will help you in the early stages, while focusing on unlocking the best pins as you progress and raise your intern level.
Best Pins to Unlock
Although you have the option of several pins that can be equipped with various effects, some Pins are just better for players in whichever point of story you are in. Some of the best Pins you can get are:
- Strike-onaut
- Heavy Thoughts
- Bubble Wrap
- Plucky
All of the four mentioned Pins are going to help you in combat. Starting from Strike-onaut which will increase your melee damage. This is advantage that you never want to miss against any type of enemy.
The second is Heavy Thoughts which lets you stop a large group of enemies, especially when things get overwhelming. When a large group of enemies nears you, you can use this Pin and its ability to stop the enemy in their tracks and attack them with relative ease.
The third is Bubble Wrap, which is again another ability much like Heavy Thoughts that lets you slow the enemy down and counter a quick succession of hits.
Lastly, Plucky lets you spawn ammo from the ground using telekinesis. You will be running out of ammo when clearing out multiple targets in an encounter, but this is where this Pin comes in very handy.
