How to Get Link’s Master Sword in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Although there are plenty of strong and powerful weapons in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, none come close to Link’s Master Sword, which makes a return from Breath of the Wild. The weapon is quite easy to get, provided that you are equipped with enough stamina to get the sword. If you are wondering why you would need stamina to get the sword, and where exactly the sword can be found, this guide will show you exactly how to get Link’s Master Sword very easily in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Get Link’s Master Sword Weapon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Link’s Master Sword isn’t in a set location but stuck on top of a flying Light Dragon that is constantly on the move. This means that you can’t really go to a specific location, but somewhere close to where the Light Dragon is roaming.

The first thing to do is to get the quest that lets you get Link’s Master Sword, which is called “Recovering the Hero’s Sword”. This quest can be found in the Korok Forest which comes after the Lost Woods, and then help Deku Tree beat the Phantom Ganon. After completing this task, you will get the quest for the Master Sword.

While there are other Dragons in the game that are flying around, you are looking for the Light Dragon, who can be found roaming around the entire sky of Hyrule. If you have the quest activated, Deku Tree will mark the location of the Light Dragon, making it easier for you to track its location.

Before you go towards the Light Dragon, you have to make sure that you have enough green stamina, which in this case will require at least two full green Stamina wheels. The yellow stamina obtained by cooking and consuming meals will not work for this, meaning you have to upgrade your stamina at the Goddess Statues and exchange Lights of Blessing to get more Stamina.

Get on Top of the Light Dragon

As mentioned before, the Master Sword is on top of the Light Dragon’s head. Meaning that the only way to get to it is to get on top of the dragon. You can do this by going to a high location, which in this case can be a nearby Skyview Tower that you can leap from and use the Paraglider to fly near the dragon.

Once you are on top of the Light Dragon, slowly creep up onto the back of its head where you will see Link’s Master Sword stuck deep inside the skull. If you have two full green stamina wheels, only then can you successfully take out the sword. If you lack enough stamina, the Dragon will shake you off, making you fall to the ground.
