Stardock, the developer, and publisher of Galactic Civilizations IV has announced the details of the first major post-launch update released for the game. Update v1.03 comprises plenty of improvements recommended by the community which includes the civilization sharing function and addressing some gameplay challenges that dedicated players brought to the developer’s attention.
Ever since the launch of Galactic Civilizations, the fans of the game have been flexing their creative chops by creating some of the most unique civilizations fitting their play styles, mirroring legendary science-fiction empires and some that just spawned from the wildest of the ideas. With the latest update v1.03 in place, every player now has the ability to share their own civilizations with the world and also download and try out other community-made civilizations.
Update v1.03 also brings enhancements to the dynamic events that players will experience throughout their campaigns alongside improvements to the combat. Both of these are inspired by the feedback that the developers received from forums, Discord, and other sources. A lot more anomaly events are now added to Galactic Civilizations IV which also increases the variety of space explorations.
In combat, enemy ships in your territory are now slowed down to give the players a chance to defend and deploy defensive units instead of needing to chase down faster-moving small enemy ships. The update also brings a lot of other improvements and features to the game as well which can be found in the full changelog on the official website. Galactic Civilization IV allows players to spread their civilization out from their home planet and into the vast unknown.
Players explore, research new technology, and eventually clash with neighboring civilizations in order to survive. The game has plenty of features such as colonization, trade, diplomacy, intrigue, and war which allow players to expand their reach in the galaxy. There are also more in-depth research options, story-driven missions, and a new 4-axis ideology system. Galactic Civilizations IV is currently available on Epic Games Store.
