Developer Funky Pop has announced that it will release two titles this spring on Steam after the successful launch of The Pinball Wizard. The new titles coming from Funky Pop include Deck ‘Em! And Escape From The Red Planet. Deck ‘Em! is a unique title where boxing meets solitaire whereas Escape From The Red Planet is a psychedelic tower defense shooter. Both games are slated for release this spring on PC via Steam and additional details about both titles will be released soon.
The first title is Deck Em’ which is a solitaire-style boxing card game. It surely sounds like a unique concept, and it surely is as you will need to try and survive twelve rounds with the Champ. Similar to Solitaire, you will draw, and place based on a sequence of numbers and rules. Each fight in the game is different and the chances of winning and losing are pretty same in the game. Key features of Deck ‘Em! include:
- Endlessly replay-able
- Simplified, causal gameplay
- Intuitive control systems
- Bet “double-or-nothing” on yourself!
- Default windowed mode (like old-school PC solitaire)
- Full-screen option
- Quick 3 – 5 minutes fights (go longer if you really want to think)

The second title is Escape From The Red Planet, which is a tower defense game with a twist. In this game, you will step into the shoes of Commander Abigail Blackwell of The Orion III which after crashlanding, leaves you stranded on Mars. You will need a serious resource management strategy in order to keep yourself safe from incoming attacks. As you wait for rescue, you will need to keep your solar batteries charged enough to build your attack and defend yourself.
Key features of Escape From The Red Planet include:
- Three different game modes: Level, Survival, and Last Stand
- Discover the 9 buildable tools for tower offense and defence
- Uncover and fight off each of the many species of Martian
- Toggle between the tower and first-person viewing modes to personally pick off some pesky Martians
- Gameplay Modes
- Level: Play through the game’s 25 levels
- Survival: Unlocked after completing level mode, challenge yourself to last as long as possible with an endless threat of incoming Martians
- Last stand: Fight off the Martians as long as you can with no tools, only your blaster in this first-person mode
Steam pages for both Deck ‘Em! and Escape From The Red Planet are now live where you can add both titles to your wishlist to keep yourself updated on all upcoming updates. Confirmed release dates have not been announced for either title however both games will be released this Spring. Additional details will follow soon.
