Freedom Games Targeted Once Again for NFT/Crypto Scam Around Coromon

Freedom Games NFT Scam

Publisher Freedom Games has once again become a victim of an NFT/Crypto scam surrounding their latest title Coromon. The story began when on July 21, an NFT/Crypto scam appeared on social media which claimed to be the monster-taming RPG Coromon by Freedom Games and TRAGsoft. The scam was backed with blockchain technology and was promising NFT giveaways as well.

Freedom Games has officially announced that this scam is false and there is absolutely no NFT or blockchain integration in the real Coromon game or with any other titles from Freedom Games as well. The Twitter page for scam Coromon (BSC) seems to be down and it was using the real game’s assets and trademarked name. The scam was also using the face of CertiK however Freedom Games could not officially verify the validity of the relationship. This is the second time that Freedom Games has come across this issue after the first one being their title Outerverse.

To counter this scam, both Freedom Games and TRAGsoft have been working on informing the community of the copycat and encouraging everyone to report any associated accounts they come across. The publisher’s legal team is looking into the issue as well to ensure the protection of the Coromon team. Freedom Games has said that it will anything to protect its developers and their hard work.

The developer is also calling on fans and letting them know that the real Coromon is only available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch with no ties to NFTs, cryptocurrencies, or the blockchain whatsoever in any form. The statement and details come from Bryan Herren, Director of Marketing at Freedom Games.

Coromon is the latest modern monster hunting game by Freedom Games and the developer TRAGsoft. After its initial PC release, the game was also recently released for Nintendo Switch as well. The game is set in the near future where you explore a charming pixel world filled with challenging puzzles and interesting creatures.
