Farming Simulator 22 Sheep Breeding Guide
Below we have detailed how you can breed Sheep to start up your own functioning Sheep farm for profit.
How to Make a Sheep Farm
Much like a chicken farm, making a sheep farm, feeding, and breeding work in the same way. This first starts with choosing the type of farm that you require, which ranges in prices depending on their size.
The cheapest option is the pasture which allows you to have 15 sheep and 3000 liters of feed and water. The other options are the Farm Houses which range from 25 sheep to 65 sheep. As you can also guess, the bigger the size the more storage space and price the farm house will come with.
Sheep for Breeding
There are three types of sheep that you can purchase for your farm. These are the Young Sheep, Adult Sheep, and the Old Sheep. All three sheep are differentiated by their age where any thing below 8 months is considered a young sheep, while above (not more than 30 months) is considered an adult sheep.
Any sheep that is 30 months are old sheep which gives you the most output of wool as compared to the adult sheep.
While the choice ultimately comes down to the player, the adult sheep is a no-brainer for choosing as your sheep for the farm. This is because they are less than half in price compared to old sheep, consume the same amount of food, and give you an adequate amount of wool, while their breeding time is the same (5 months)
Younger sheep are cheaper to but not advantageous as they take 8 months to grow, do not breed during this period, do not provide any wool, and eat almost the same amount of food as an adult or older sheep.
What to Feed the Sheep
Your Sheep will require grass or hay as feed to keep the sheep healthy and in the best condition for breeding and wool. While you can go for loose grass and unload them on the sheep farm, you can also purchase bales of hay, which is another effective feeding option for your farm.
How to Profit
The only profitable materials you can get from your sheep farm are wool and meat, where the former will be the most sought-after item that will give you the most money.
Your profit not only depends on the number of sheep you have but also the age type of sheep you have on the farm. The best choice to go for are the adult sheep, which provide decent amount of wool, while consuming the same amount of food as an old sheep. Your compromise in the early stages will bear you more fruit as the months pass by and your sheep grow past 36 months reaching their older stage
