EVGA Dark SR-3 LGA 3647 Motherboard Revealed At Computex 2019

The EVGA Dark SR-3 LGA 3647 was just revealed at Computex 2019 and it supports the Intel 28 core CPUs. We already have a variant from Asus and Gigabyte which we saw at last years Computex but now we have another one from EVGA as well. The motherboard is one of the best that we have seen so far at Computex 2019.

One of the major highlights of the EVGA Dark SR-3 is that it has an E-ATX size for enthusiasts and prosumers will be able to install this into full tower cases unlike the other versions from Gigabyte and Asus that are based on the EEB format.

This motherboard is a monster keeping in mind that it comes with a standard 24 pin power connector and 4 EPS power connectors. This is enough to power a 28 core beast of a CPU and overclock it as well but you will need exotic cooling if that is something that you are interested in doing.

At Computed 2018 we learned that Intel used an industrial chiller to overclock a similar chip to 5 GHz across all cores and in theory you could do the same as well. The EVGA Dark SR-3 features 6 PCIe Slots and has a water block if you are interested in liquid cooling the VRMs. Which is something that you should do if you are interested in getting the most out of this motherboard and the CPU that you are planning to use with it.

The motherboard comes with 6x DIMM slots rather than 8. 2 have been removed in order to make the motherboard fit into most DIY cases. Other than that you have the usual M.2 slots and I/O that you get on most modern motherboards.

Let us know what you think about the EVGA Dark SR-3 and whether or not this is something that you are interested in getting for yourself.
