Everspace 2 Gets New Gameplay Trailers, Early Access Coming in December

EVERSPACE 2 Drake: Gang Wars

Rockfish Games has revealed brand new gameplay trailers along with a developer commentary video for its upcoming space game Everspace 2 at Gamescom 2020. The new trailers showcase never-seen-before gameplay footage of the title and new features from the game such as a brand star system and cockpit view featuring fully functional displays.

The trailers were released during the IGN event which finally revealed the hotly-anticipated cockpit view featuring fully functional displays. These displays allow fans the option to play without HUD for maximum immersion. Ship type, upgrades, and color customization will affect the cockpit interior allowing players to have an interior according to their very own taste and style.

The developer has also revealed the Steam Early Access version of the game will allow players to access the new star system Union which is a bustling trading hub where the interstellar game opens up. This new section of the game will introduce a brand new look and feel for the game as it brings massive space cloud formations, thunderstorms, shattered steroids, and more unique environment types both in space and on planets.

This is only possible through a mix of hand-crafted and procedurally generated locations using UE4’s advanced technology like ambient occlusion, global illumination, and Niagra particles to the fullest. Early Access will also introduce a brand new alien race the Okkar that comes back from the original Everspace title. It will also add two new player ship classes, a cockpit view with fully functional displays, 5 to 10 hours of gameplay to the Closed Alpha’s 10 hours of content, a higher level cap, and many UI/UX and quality-of-life improvements.

Fueled by glowing feedback on the EVERSPACE 2 Prototype and Closed Alpha, our team was even more motivated to continue pushing the technical and artistic envelope. The introduction of the new star system Union demonstrates what an exceptional visual and gameplay experience a next-gen space shooter like EVERSPACE 2 can offer to hardcore fans of space action games. We cannot wait for avid space pilots to delve into the first two of eight star systems in EVERSPACE 2 later this year. We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with the community to deliver on our ambitious vision.
