Dragon Quest Builders 2 is now out and it comes with a brand new feature of Multiplayer which will allow you to play the game with your friends. This is the first time online has arrived in the franchise so it makes it a really big addition to the game. However, the game does not offer multiplayer right from the beginning of the game. You cannot play the whole game with your friends.

We have detailed everything here that you need to know about Dragon Quest Builders 2 and how you can actually play multiplayer with your friends. Just to start with, Dragon Quest Builders 2 does not come with any split-screen.

If you were planning to invite some friends over and sharing the same screen for some co-op gameplay, sadly your plans are ruined. You can only play online multiplayer in Dragon Quest Builders 2.

How to play Multiplayer in Dragon Quest Builders 2

Now before you jump online, there are a few things that you must complete in the game. Start with playing the main story of the game. Complete the tutorials and get the hang of all the in-game mechanics, next you will travel to the Island of Awakening and complete some initial island quests at Furrowfield.

Keep at it and you will eventually unlock the multiplayer portal after a few missions. You will find the multiplayer portal on the Island of Awakening. Whenever you want to invite some friends over, simply head over to this portal and interact with it to bring up the multiplayer menu which will show you different options.

To play with other people, they must in your friends list or your friend’s friends list. You will also require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Once you have the option to play online, you can choose to go online and invite your friends over. In addition, you can also toggle the option on and off for your friend’s friends.

Once someone joins your session, you can build together. Multiplayer also comes with a plethora of unique options that you can opt for. Head into the Multiplayer section to check all of them and tick the ones that you want to turn on or off.
