Below we have detailed how you can start fishing and how you can catch one specific fish.

How to Fish

You can start quite early if you decide to start fishing in the game. Once you start the activity, you can either fish with Goku’s tail, or use bait. Bait is only needed when you are looking to catch a certain fish from the lake, while the tail allows you to catch any fish you want.

If you decide to use the tail, Goku will produce a tail and cast it in the lake. The mechanics of fishing in the game require you to wiggle your tail to attract the fish towards it. The fish that is closest to your tail when it wiggles, or that is facing it will be attracted. What this means is that wiggling your tail will always guarantee a catch, but will also mean that the closest fish will be caught.

If you are looking to catch a specific fish in the lake, you will have to wait until the right moment to wiggle the tail. First, choose the fish you want, and then wait for it to either be closest to the tail, or when it is the only one facing your tail. This will ensure that the fish you want is the first one to get caught on your tail.

Once the fish is hooked, all you are left with is to press the button when the arrow is in the highlighted area. This will cause the fish to be launched out of the water, and where you will have to press the button at the right moment to ensure that you have caught your fish.

How to Get Great Energetic Fish

You are required to get 10 Great Energetic Fish as part of a side quest called “Tough Break for Turtle” It is the same quest where you have to find the Royal Tomato along with other ingredients that include the Great Energetic Fish.

When you get the quest in the Kame House, the farmer will hint you about the fish and how the birds will circle above the fish in the sky. This is an indication of where you will find the Great Energetic Fish. From the Kame House, fly up and near the water and look for birds circling an area. Each time you do, dive in the water to catch the fish.

How to Get Goliath Catfish

You are tasked with catching this fish as part of the Yajirobe and Korin side quest. You don’t have to look for the fish, as it will be nearby in the fishing areas. The Goliath Catfish is easy to spot among other fishes as it has a large fin.

To catch the fish, you have to wait for the right moment to wiggle your tail. Do this when the fish is facing you or is the closest.

How to Get Scarlet Catfish

This fish can also be found in the same areas where you caught the Goliath Catfish, however, catching it will require you to get some bait instead of relying on your tail. This is because the Scarlet Catfish is quite rare in making an appearance among other fishes. The fish is more attracted when there is bait around, and will give you more chances of catching it.
