Farming Guide – Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
Our Dragon Ball Z Farming Guide details everything that you need to know about farming different items in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Zeni
Zeni is the in-game money and you will need Zeni for a lot of items in the game. Lucky for you, collecting Zeni in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is not a difficult task. There are different ways by which you can earn Zeni quickly in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. During the early phases of the game, you can catch some fish and sell the Golden Fish Scales. The one particular that brings the most amount is the Golden Fish. Catch them and sell their scales for 3000Z each. If you need help with fishing, check out our Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Fishing Guide.
Apart from selling fish scales, you can also kill the dinosaurs roaming around and sell the items you harvest from their bodies. Apart from selling their items, you can also use their meat in cooking. Kill any dinosaur you see around you and make sure that you harvest their items from their bodies so that you can sell them. The highest selling part is Dinosaur Fangs where each unit will sell for 1800Z.
Both of these are good Zeni farming methods during the early game but after certain progress in the game, you will be able to collect Dragon Balls as well. Once you unlock them, find and collect all 7 Dragon Balls in the world and once you have all of them, you can summon the Dragon and make a wish. Choose to get Zeni and you will receive 30,000Z as a result. This is the most-yielding method of Zeni.
Dragon Balls
Unlike most of the items on this guide, Dragon Balls are not available to collect right from the start of the game. You can only start collecting Dragon Balls after you’ve reached a certain part of the main story. This is right after you complete Frieza Saga. You will have plenty of chances to find and collect Dragon Balls during the free time you get between missions. Other than these times, you cannot find and collect Dragon Balls.
The best method of locating Dragon Balls is to use the map of the game. Each location will have a Dragon Ball icon next to it if it has a Dragon Ball in it. Travel to that area and then check your Dragon Radar to locate the Dragon Ball. The area is a guess so you will need to explore a little bit before you can finally find it. Once collected, the Dragon Radar will mark it on the side of the map. You will need to collect all 7 to make a wish and after use, they have a 20-minute cooldown before you can find them again and make another wish.
You can make the following wishes after collecting all 7 of the Dragon Balls:
- Get Z Orbs
- Get a Rare Item
- Revive a Boss
- Get Zeni
Materials or Food Items
Food Items or Materials are yet another important resource in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot that you will be required to harvest. However, they are also the easiest ones to farm in the game. These food items or materials will give you temporary or permanent stat boosts when you consume them.
If you like to cook in the game, you will often need these materials for your recipes. To obtain these food items or materials, you can catch some fish, kill and harvest animals roaming around, gather from trees or purchase directly from stores. Using ‘Search for Ki’ highlights them in the world.
Z Orbs
Z Orbs are vital to make you powerful in the game because you will unlock Super Attacks and other moves and skills with Z Orbs. If you want to upgrade an existing move or skill, you will also need Z Orbs for them. You will find six different colored Z Orbs in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. These are Rainbow, Blue, Green, Red, Silver, and Gold. Make sure you collect all of them because they are extremely useful.
Z orbs are found everywhere. To farm Z Orbs, you must try to use every Airway or Phantom Airway that you come across. They will always have Z Orbs in them. Apart from them, you will get Z Orbs after beating enemies in the game. Win battles in main story missions and side quests to earn more Z Orbs. Apart from these sources, you will also find plenty of Z Orbs in different random open areas of the game. Make sure you explore every area thoroughly.
D Medals
De Medals are yet another currency type that you can find in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Similar to Z Orbs, D Medals are also used for Training and obtaining new Super Moves. Every Training session will cost you D Medals so make sure that you come with plenty if you want multiple Training sessions or moves. Every hero in the game comes with their own unique training sessions so you will need D Medals for all of them.
There are various ways to farm for D Medals. Each area also has a specific number of D Medals that you can find in it. After using the World Map to determining how many D Medals are in a specific area, use ‘Search for Ki’ for highlighting them in the world and making it easier to find them. Apart from random locations, you will also get some D Medals from completing the main missions and side missions of the game.
