Combat Guide – Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Read on for some handy tips and tricks that will help you master the combat of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden quickly.
Starting With Antea Then Red
Antea is a ghost, so she can’t really die in a fight because she’s already dead. But she does have a special meter called Spirit that shows how long she can keep going in battle. When she gets hit or when she attacks, her Spirit goes down. When it’s all gone, you’ll automatically switch to Red. That’s why it’s smart to start with Antea when fighting.
When you start the fight a good idea would be to use all the Manifestations you have when you are playing as Antea. Most of the enemies you’ll come across are dead bodies controlled by ghosts, and Antea can cause damage to them. So, keep that in mind. If you are running low on the Spirit meter, you can get more by using Red attacks, which will switch you back to Antea. So, remember this as you play because it’s important for staying alive.
Stop Spectral Possession Of Corpses
You’ll see many dead bodies, but not all of them will be taken over by evil spirits. Some people will try hard to control these bodies, which can make things harder for you. So, remember this important tip for fighting ghosts in New Eden: stop them from taking over corpses. If you don’t stop it, you’ll have to fight both the body and the ghost, which takes more time. It’s better to avoid that if you can.
TIP: When a specter takes control of a dead body, it gets new powers like being able to attack from far away or up close.
Aim For The Head
Before you can use your first rifle in the game, you have to make progress in the story. Once you have it, remember it’s very useful. The rifle helps a lot in lowering enemies’ health from far away when you’re playing as Red, so you can defeat them with fewer hits. Even though the game doesn’t say it directly, it’s good to know that shooting for the head causes more damage but at this point, if you have been gaming for a while you already know that headshots almost always are instant kill.
Tip: As you progress in the game, you’ll discover new gear and skills that can improve how well your rifle works. Make sure to pay attention to these passive abilities—they can be really helpful!
Charged Heavy Attacks
In the game, when you do a charged heavy attack, it’s like a powerful move that you can’t stop once you start. It lets you get stronger and hit the enemy harder. But it doesn’t mean you won’t get hurt back. You have to decide if it’s worth it: hitting the enemy harder but also getting hit by them. Another thing worth noting is that these attacks can be helpful in breaking enemy defense.
Perfect Switch Skill
As you play the game, you’ll see the Evolution menu, like a skill chart, grow and get new parts. In this menu, there are different trees you can unlock. Some of these skills are called Perfect Switch. When you use them, they not only feel good but also make your attacks stronger by 20 percent in the game. So, the more Perfect Switch skills you get, the more damage your attacks will do. Some of these skills are easier to use than others. But if you combine them well, you can make powerful combos that pack a punch at the enemies.
Passive Skills
Each piece of gear you get has two important things that make it work well – passive skills and attributes. It might seem like the best idea to go for gear with higher attributes, but that’s not always the smartest plan during fights. It’s actually better to pay attention to the special skills that gear gives you instead of just looking at its attributes. The reason is that you can always upgrade your gear, but you cannot upgrade the passives.
So, it’s smarter to pick gear that has passive abilities to help you fight, like doing more damage or making the cooldown for special abilities shorter. Passive abilities are more important than basic traits in this game and can really make a big difference in battles.
