Apex Legends Wattson Guide

In this Apex Legends Wattson Guide, we will show you how to play as Wattson. This is a new Legend recently introduced in the second season of the game. This guide will also highlight Wattson’s abilities, strengths and the best way to fight against enemies.

Wattson is a new Legend that specializes in electricity. She has long cables that can be crafted into defensive fences, that prevent enemies from entering a perimeter with a high voltage barrier.

Apex Legends Wattson Guide

Below we have listed Wattson’s abilities, what her strengths are and how you should combat enemies with the abilities that she comes with.

How to Unlock Wattson

Wattson can only be unlocked by manually purchasing her with 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins. Farming Tokens is no big deal if you are a regular in Apex Legends. Go to the Legend menu of the lobby and unlock Wattson as your new Legend in the game.

If you do not have enough Legend Tokens, you also have the choice of Apex Coins. This will save you time but may cost you money to buy the Apex Coins. If you decide to go for the Apex Coins, unlocking Wattson follows the same steps as you would with Legend Tokens.

Wattson Abilities

Wattson comes with armed pylons that can create barriers between your teammates and the enemy. She also comes with a quick charging ultimate ability and shock gate traps. Her abilities are listed below:

Tactical Ability

  • Perimeter Security: Can place and connect nodes to create electrified fences that damage and slow enemies.

Passive Ability

  • Spark of Genius: Charges your Ultimate Ability more quickly, and standing near interception pylons boosts your Tactical Ability recharge.

Ultimate Ability

Interception Pylon: Allows you to place a pylon that intercepts enemy projectiles while restoring you and your ally’s shields. You can place a maximum of three Pylons at once.

How to Play as Wattson

Wattson comes with a lot of versatility, as she can play a huge supporting role for the whole team. Her skills complement the attacking of Bangalore and Wraith and can lure enemies for a kill.

Having said that, Wattson is not the best for one on one combat encounters. If you do find yourself playing as Wattson and the last man standing, you need to use your abilities to your advantage and lure the enemies for an easy kill. Alternatively, you can also make things hard for them with your electrified barriers that will hurt the enemy and slow them down.

Fighting in the arena as Wattson requires you to have a clear strategy and let your attackers do the heavy work, while you provide support. When you find your teammates getting attack from more than one side, or if there is another team coming out of the blue for a surprise ambush, you would need to go for your Ultimate ability to not only block any projectile but also regenerate the armor of your teammates inside the shield.

Wattson’s Ultimate ability can be the make or break in the whole match, as the ability can restore teammate armor, and can be a great way to attack from a long distance. Wattson’s passive ability, which is Spark of Genius also increases your Ultimate charge rate, allowing you to use your Ultimate several times in a match.

Her Perimeter Security nodes can be great to create a defensive barrier to cover your backs or can be used as choke points to flush enemies towards your teammates for an ambush.

Once you have gotten used to Wattson, and are confident enough to main her, you can go for one on one encounters by setting traps with your nodes to drain enemy health and shields. This will only make it easier to kill the enemies. But play your role as a supportive Legend, and force the enemy towards your attacker specialist Legends.
