A Plague Tale: Requiem All Secret Chests Locations Guide
Before you set out to get all the 10 Secret Chests, you have to remember that you need Knives to open each Secret Chest. This means that you should save each Knife that you find and save it for the chest, rather than using it on enemies. Knives are quite rare, which is why you should always have at least one or more to open a Secret Chest that you find.
In this case, you will need 10 Knives for the 10 total Secret Chests. Knives can be found throughout the game as you progress in the story.
Secret Chest Location #1 – Chapter 3
In Chapter 3 of the game, you will learn about Secret Chests are how they will open. The game leads you to this point as it is a game mechanic that you will learn with a short tutorial.
As you escape from the guards, you can find a Knife at the back of the warehouse. You will find a vehicle hanging from the ceiling, and the knife will be in the storage area to the left of it, next to the spears.
Turn around and you will find the Secret Chest ahead, which you can now open with the knife.
Secret Chest Location #2 – Chapter 4
In the docks that are filled with rats, you will find need Amicia to light up the tar to spread out the rats and open up the path. Continuing forward, you will find a brazier on a cart that you can light up and use to drag along anywhere you want to remove the rats.
On the right and to the back end, you will find a ladder leading up to a platform as you are dragging the brazier. You need to push the cart to the ladder, removing the rats, so that you can access the ladder. Climb up and you will find the Secret Chest.
Secret Chest Location #3 – Chapter 5
When you reach the area that requires you to cross the river using the chained raft, you will reach a wooden structure. Enter it and you will find a weight hanging from the hole in the ceiling.
You need to break the link to drop the weight down. Now head outside and go to the back of this building. Squeeze in through the gap in the wooden fence, and climb up the ladder to the upper section of the building, where you will find the chest
Secret Chest Location #4 – Chapter 6
When you go past the quarry and make it into the church, Amicia will feel unwell after locking the door behind. This is a small cutscene but then you will get the control back. Turn left and you will find a small gap down the bottom of the shelf, crawl through this gap and it will lead you straight to the Chest on the left.
Secret Chest Location #5 – Chapter 7
After you have gone through the caves filled with rats and enemies, you will reach the other side in the open, on a wooden platform path. This path takes you through the rocks and leads up to another shipwreck, to the right of the small cave lit up with the lamp.
This shipwreck will have a hole that you can crawl through, and contains the chest in the back on the ship on the right.
Secret Chest Location #6 – Chapter 9
When you are with Sophia in this chapter, you will be following the bird statues. At some point, you will find a fort that you can access by opening it from the small gap, using your weapon to open it. Climb inside and up the ladder inside the fort. This will take you to the chest here.
Secret Chest Location # 7 – Chapter 9
In the same chapter after you have climbed up the ledge, you will come to a path with a view of the sanctuary. Going up this path, wait for the soldier to start talking about the ceremony beginning soon. This is the point where you need to turn around to the left and you will find a climbable path on the rock.
This takes you to a small area with the secret chest.
Secret Chest Location #8 – Chapter 10
In the area where Sophia saves you from the rats by reflecting the light as you are riding the cart, you will find a door in the fort that you can go to. Amicia can light the opening to remove the rats, while you can ask Sophia to guide to you to the opening.
Enter inside and go up the stairs which will take you to the chest on the right.
Secret Chest Location #9 – Chapter 11
In this chapter when you are separated from Hugo and Sophia, you will have to go through a rat’s nest. Enter the building covered with the rat nest and break the chain on the right.
Squeeze past this opening and immediately turn left. This takes you to a similar opening through the chains, where you will find the chest inside.
Secret Chest Location #10 – Chapter 13
After you see Arnaud at the gallows, you will find a cart that you can push around. Instead of pushing it to the main path on the left, take it to the opposite side to climb up the higher platform above. The chest will be on the right.
