Wild Ginseng Guide – Crimson Desert
When your spirit reaches level 8, you can’t level it up normally anymore. From this point onward, each level requires 10 Wild Ginseng. Without it, your progress stops, so collecting this resource becomes very important.
First Farming Location – Pailune Area
The first place to find Wild Ginseng is in the far north of the map, near Pailune and Silver Wolf Mountain. This spot can be a bit tricky to locate, so try to match your position carefully with the map.
Start from the nearby fast travel point and face toward the southeast. From there, move across the area and glide over the terrain until you reach the other side of the mountain, where a group of trees is visible. As you descend near the rocky area, you will notice a small cave entrance.
Before entering the cave, check around the outside area. You will find a few Wild Ginseng plants growing nearby. These usually give around one or two each when collected. There are multiple plants here, so make sure to search the surroundings carefully before moving on.
Second Farming Location – Nearby Cave Spot
The second location is close to the first, making it easy to farm both in a single run. From another fast travel point in the same region, face east and glide forward across the cliff.
As you move ahead, look for a narrow gap between rocks. This gap leads into a cave. Go inside and walk toward the back.
On the left side, you will find more Wild Ginseng growing. Collect everything here to get a few extra pieces.
Using Wild Ginseng for Upgrades
Once you’ve collected enough Wild Ginseng, you can return to your spirit menu and upgrade your spirit level beyond 8. After unlocking higher levels, future upgrades will require different materials like Abyss-related items, but Wild Ginseng is necessary to break the level cap first.
Unlocking the Spirit Level Cap
Wild Ginseng alone is not enough; you also need knowledge to unlock higher spirit levels.
To get this, go to Pororin Village, which is located south of Hernand. There, you will find a research building where you can unlock upgrades through research.
Inside, you will need to:
- Complete a small quest to unlock the research system
- Start researching nodes related to Wild Ginseng
The research takes time, in-game hours, and each stage can take several hours to complete. Sometimes the process pauses, and you will need to finish additional tasks to continue. It also requires some silver, so be prepared for that.
Once you finish the required research, you will gain the knowledge needed to increase your spirit level cap.
