Anra and Dr Halyn Boss Battle Guide – MIO: Memories in Orbit
This fight takes place in multiple stages. First, you need to defeat Anra and then Dr Halyn. The hardest part of this fight happens at the start.
Anra moves quickly and relies on mobility, making it easy to get overwhelmed if you keep your distance. The safest approach is to stay close at all times. Many of Anra’s attacks are ranged, and being nearby prevents those projectiles from becoming a threat. Even when Anra uses close-range strikes early on, staying tight and dodging when needed still gives you the advantage and lets you deal steady damage.
Anra’s Attacks and How to Deal
Before the fight starts, when you arrive at the location, you will see a machine hand that will take you to the main arena. After dropping you in the arena, you will see Anra drop from above and remain in the air. The battle will not start until you perform some attacks on Anra that will activate her.
Anra has a sword-like weapon in her left hand. One of her attacks includes this weapon, in which she swirls rapidly in the air and attacks you. You can simply avoid this attack by moving away from her sight, as she will first stop to lock her target and then use this attack, which signals you about her attack.
Sometimes, Anra will rise in the air. You can attack her by jumping upwards. But do not stand below her, as sometimes she will dash rapidly vertically in a straight line downward using this weapon. If you are caught by this attack, it will damage you. After finishing this blow, she will move rapidly forward in a straight line while swinging her weapon. You can avoid the first one by jumping or moving behind her and dealing an attack while she is busy moving forward.
Anra can move herself in the air. After taking damage, Anra protects herself with a shield, provided by the mechanical hand. To remove it, focus your attacks on the glowing yellow orb held inside the mechanical hand. Keep hitting it patiently, and the shield will eventually break, allowing you to continue the fight.
After breaking her shield, Anra will change her tactics, and instead of using a sword-like weapon, she will now use a weapon that, upon firing, forms a ball, and then this ball will convert into mini projectiles that move in all directions. You can avoid this attack by moving away from the projectiles, and close your distance with her.
She will also use that weapon to form a laser beam by rising into the air and attack you with it during the fight. You can avoid this by moving close to her. She will also attack you from the air with red laser balls in a straight line. Some of her laser attacks form a semi-circle when she fires them from the ground. You can avoid them by moving behind her back and dealing her damage during this animation.
Dealing with Dr Halyn
After defeating Anra, your fight does not end. The mechanical hand named as Dr Halyn now comes into play, and it will take Anra in its hand.
Some of Dr Halyn’s attacks include throwing Anra at you and then catching her. You can easily dodge this attack by moving away from the sight, as it will throw her from above in a straight line. Keep attacking Anra at this time.
The attacks also include throwing Anra in the air and then firing her at you at some angle. This will cause great damage to you. You need to dodge this attack. Sometimes, Dr Halyn closes her fist and blasts off and then fires off some laser balls in the outward direction, twice.
The danger comes from the mechanical arm slamming into the ground. Avoid these strikes, keep your movement controlled, and continue damaging Anra while staying aware of the arm’s timing. With patience and positioning, this final phase is much more manageable than the opening phase.
