Atari is currently undergoing a major transformation, and Bianucci’s appointment comes three years into the company’s retro-focused transformation. In the past years, Atari has revamped its game portfolio, bringing its classic titles back to life for modern platforms. It has also restructured its hardware operations around partnerships and licensing and deepened its expertise and publishing footprint through the successful acquisitions of Digital Eclipse and Nightdive Studios. In March 2025, Atari announced YOY revenue growth of over 63% which marks its second straight year of significant growth and the highest level of annual revenue in over a year.
Atari is known for publishing some of the most iconic video game franchises, such as Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, and RollerCoaster Tycoon. The company boasts over 400 unique games and franchises under its umbrella. Recent releases by Atari include the handheld console Gamestation Go, Missile Command Delta, Lunar Lander, and VCS.
