The Commission 1920 New Update to Bring Family Customization, Redesigned Random Events

The Commission 1920 New Update

302 Interactive has announced that they will be releasing a new update for The Commission 1920 that will allow players to customize their own mafia families and participate in new redesigned random events. The update will release for the game on June 25, 2021, on Steam. Since the game’s release in February, this is the biggest update for the game and changes plenty of things in the game.

Probably the biggest feature of the upcoming update is the ability to add a personal touch to the game’s campaign. With the new update, you will be able to customize your families by selecting from a variety of new family emblems, colors, and traits. Apart from this, you will also be able to create a unique Don and family names. To do all this, you now have another option in the main menu of ‘Custom Campaign’. Choose this setting and you can customize your family before starting the main story campaign.

Apart from the family customization, the update will also bring different changes to the random events system in the game. You will be able to participate in new multiple events simultaneously, including new long-term events.  You can check all of them in the report panel. Long-term events are also now part of the campaign. Mandatory events will remain the same. The update also brings small reworks to create a more cohesive gaming experience for players.

Reporting is now more effective as now every time when a Soldato or Capo is assassinated, the game will show the areas that were affected by the loss as well as any vacant assignments. Zachary Goodless, lead developer of the project details:

When we were first developing the game, our intent was to create something that had the feel of a board game with distinct personalities for each preset family. However, the design has gradually shifted toward being more of a simulator game. With that comes the expectation that players can insert themselves into the game, and feel like they’re expanding “their” mafia empire and not just taking on the role of an existing don.

He further added:

We were running into some limitations as a result of how we built it. The upcoming event rework allows us to have multiple events running concurrently and adds some new events as well.

Additional details about the update will be revealed closer to the update’s release on June 25, 2022. We earlier reviewed The Commission 1920 so make sure that you check it out as well.
