Amsterdam-based indie developer Sticky Lock has announced their brand-new project Histera that they claim will be a ‘game changer’ among first-person shooters. Histera is slated for an early 2022 release and will arrive on all major platforms including VR. PC players can expect an early access release for late 2021.
Stickylock describes Histera as a multiplayer first-person shooter that takes place in multiple simulated eras and moments throughout the history of man and the future as well. Based on this unique mechanic, it is possible in the game for players to run around in high-tech armor fighting a rebel uprising or stomp around in improvised weapons and fighting a rival tribe.
Experience vastly different surroundings, outfits, and weapons that will force you to change tactics and resources. The game will also include several unique never-before-seen features, competitive e-sports style gameplay, and an amazing level-editor option for all players.
The developer Stickylock has a team of over 40 creative artists and developers who have been working on the new title for the past 2 years. Lead Developer Mitchel Alberts comments:
By using the latest Unity DOTS and Netcode we can bring some unique features to this game. We are working hard to bring it to Steam for early access by the end of this year.
The developer plans of releasing the game first in early access later this year on PC where the developer will work with the community to create the title. Players who take part in the early access will act as community members of the game and will get to see how the game goes from a mere concept to a full title. They will have the privilege to send suggestions for improvements, vote on new features, join public playtests, and much more.
