Monster Hunter Rise Update 2.0 is dropping today for free, and it will bring new content for players, including new monsters. Capcom recently held its Monster Hunter live stream, and during the livestream, the developer shared details on everything that is coming to the game in the new 2.0 update, which is slated to go live today. New monsters include Apex variants of some of the monsters already in the game.
Starting with the most prominent addition to the title, the pre-launch announcement, which revealed the new monster Chameleos, is finally arriving in Monster Hunter Rise. Apart from Chameleos, players will be happy to know that two additional Elder Dragons, Teostra and Kushala Daora, are also coming to the game. Apart from these new additions, Apex Diablos and Apex Rathalos are also part of the update, giving players tougher versions of the normal monsters to fight in the game.
These monsters can also be fought outside of the Rampage quests, and coming to Rampage quests, Magnamalo will also be a part of the Rampage quest rotation now. To give players additional freedom with their builds for the new content, the Hunter rank cap will now be unlocked in the game. Once the new mechanic is in place, you will earn rank points after quests and fight the new monsters dropping in today’s update.
Players will also find new Rampage quests, arena quests, and single-player only quests in the update as well. Another important aspect of the new update is that it will prepare the game for upcoming DLCs and the changes coming in the next Update 3.0 later down the road. Future plans for Monster Hunter Rise include a character customization option with the help of Character Vouchers.
The next update will allow players to forge layered armor for their main characters and sidekicks. Additional features will include voice options, gestures, new hairstyles, stickers, pet clothing, and much more. Update 3.0 will also bring a new story chapter that takes place after the story of the main game, and it will bring new monsters. It is slated to arrive sometime in May. To celebrate the launch of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a crossover event is also in the works.
