HandyGames has announced that it is currently working hard on its city-building VR game Townsmen VR and to showcase the progress, they will be live on Gamescom indie arena booth and will showcase new footage and live streams. Players looking forward to the new footage and live stream can tune in on Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29, and check them out online.
Townsmen VR is currently available in Early Access and it brings a major new twist to the classic city-builder formula, the integration of VR. Being a VR game, it allows for greater immersion into the game as along with building your city, you can also pick up chickens, shame them and allow your people to enjoy freshly-laid eggs. This is just a small example of how VR can greatly benefit the future development of this title and we cannot wait to check out the new development updates coming from the upcoming Gamescom.
Another example of how you can use VR to your advantage is when bandits attack your village with fire and swords, you can intervene with your own two hands as you assemble your troops for battle and place the rocks onto the catapults to scare off the invaders. The new updates will cover all of the polish, new addition, upgrades, and redesigns that the developers have been doing in the game so far. The developers have also created 12 playable islands for players that can be used to build cities on and complete quests and conquer castles.
In anticipation of the upcoming updates, the developers have shared a few of the fun new features earlier. One of the new features is that birds can steal your resources in the game as crows can steal your gold bars, hungry seagulls can grab the fresh fish while eagles will hunt down rabbits. Apart from flying invasions, your citizens will also need to watch out for dangerous predators now roaming the islands.
They will come across wolves, bears, and different carnivores who will defend their territories if invaded. To gain access to these areas and resources guarded by them, you will first have to defeat them. The game is also getting professional voice recordings as the developer is currently working on it. This will allow you to have an even more fitting medieval atmosphere. The artwork and logo of the game have also been redesigned to enhance the game value and attention.
Townsmen VR is now available on Steam in Early Access.
