In a recent Xbox Wire post, Microsoft has announced that its next-gen console Xbox Series X will release in November 2020. Although there is no confirmed release date announced as of yet, Microsoft has confirmed the release month of Xbox Series X as November 2020. Previously, Microsoft had just announced a Holiday 2020.
As excited as we are for the launch of Xbox Series X, we are also disappointed to see that Xbox Series X will not release with majority of exclusives revealed for the console. As announced in the official blog post, the main focus at the launch of Xbox Series X this November will be the Xbox Game Pass and the plethora of titles available on it. If you are planning to purchase an Xbox Series X, most of the titles that you will have access to will be the games already released on previous generations.
With Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X will have access to four generations of games released for Xbox consoles. More than 100 titles will be optimized for Xbox Series X but the majority will be old titles that you will be playing on your brand new consoles. Some of your current-gen Xbox One titles will upgrade for free for your Xbox Series X as well such as Gears Tactics, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Dirt 5.
However, everything is not all gloom and doom as you will get some Xbox Series X exclusives at launch or near its launch such as Tetris Effect: Connected, The Medium, Scorn, and some more titles. The Xbox Series X optimized games will include Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Madden NFL 21, and more. The list tops a little over 100. While the launch of Xbox Series X might not be too promising, 2021 is looking for a great year for the console when it comes to releases.
343 Industries has also pushed Halo: Infinite into 2021 which was earlier announced as an Xbox Series X launch title. You can check out what games will be coming to your brand new Xbox Series X in our feature covering the Inside Xbox episode featuring Xbox Series X gameplay and recently held Xbox Series X game reveal event.
Will you be picking up your brand new Xbox Series X this November 2020 or will you wait until 2021 to get it?
