BAFTA has just announced the final two categories of this year’s 2022 BAFTA Games awards. The nominations are for the Performer in a Leading Role and Performer in a Supporting Role.
The nominees in both the two categories are:

- LAURA BAILEY as Polina Petrova in Call of Duty: Vanguard
- KIMBERLY BROOKS as Hollis Forsythe in Psychonauts 2
- JASON CAVALIER as Drax in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
- MAGGIE ROBERTSON as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village
- HAN SOTO as Gabe Chen in Life is Strange: True Colors
- ALEX WEINER as Rocket in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
The BAFTA Games Awards will take place next month on 7th April 2022 at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, with presenter and journalist Elle Osili-Wood returning as host. The event will be live-streamed on the BAFTA social channels, while The ceremony will see winners in 18 categories announced, recognizing a range of crafts, performances and games.
The category brings the total nominated number of games for this year’s BAFTA Games Awards to 39. The full list of nominations includes the following games:
- Nine nominations for Returnal
- Eight nominations each for It Takes Two and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Seven nominations each for DEATHLOOP and Psychonauts 2
- Six nominations for Forza Horizon 5
- Five nominations for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
- Nominations in the Game Beyond Entertainment category: Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Before Your Eyes, Chicory: A Colourful Tale, Game Builder Garage, It Takes Two and Psychonauts 2
- Other games receiving nominations: Among Us, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Apex Legends, Back 4 Blood, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Death’s Door, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, Eastward, Far Cry 6, Fights in Tight Spaces, Fortnite, Genesis Noir, Halo Infinite, Hell Let Loose, Hitman 3, Inscryption, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Life is Strange: True Colors, Maquette, Mario Party Superstars, No Man’s Sky, Overboard, Resident Evil Village, Sable, The Artful Escape, The Forgotten Citt, TOEM and Unpacking.
Lastly, BAFTA has also announced its collaboration with Black Twitch UK for the inaugural BAFTA Games Challenge next week on 31st March 2022. Six nominated games from the upcoming 2022 BAFTA Games Awards are to be played by 12 women from Black Twitch UK, who will compete in a series of head-to-head challenges live on Twitch one week ahead of the ceremony.
Black Twitch UK is a platform that is dedicated to highlighting and promoting the voices and content of Black streamers and content creators in the UK. The challenge will be led by team captains Ebonix, Twitch’s first Black female ambassador in the UK, and GeekyCassie. The 12 streamers will compete against each other for the title of this year’s champion.
