Xenoblade Chronicles Gem Crafting Guide

If you have played the previous games in the series, you know that Gems play a big role in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 by giving you the ability to refine materials to craft gems and use them on your character for various abilities and bonuses. This Xenoblade Chronicles Gem Crafting Guide will show you how to craft Gems and list all the Gems and their effects.

When you will reach Chapter 2 of the game, each of your characters will get one slot to attach a Gem. The slots can be further increased to a second and third slot if your character reaches Level 20 and Level 30 respectively.

Xenoblade Chronicles Gem Crafting Guide

To craft Gems, you need to find and combine Cylinders with  Crystal, synthesizing them to Rank 1 or Rank 2. Gems can be crafted by Riku at a campsite after you have recruited him to your party.

There are four different types of Gems, ranging from Attacker, Healer, Defender, and Utility Gems.

Attacker Gems List

Attacker Gem Effect
Steelcleaver Attack Increased by 20
Accurate Grace Dexterity increased by 20
Analyze Weakness Critical Hit Damage increased by 20%
Swelling Scourge Power of debuffs applied to enemies is increased by 25%
Refined Incantation Timer of debuffs applied on enemies is extended in duration by 25%

Healer Gems

Healer Gem Effect
Lifebearer Healing increased by 20
Soothing Breath Knocked-down teammates will be revived with 20% additional HP. Healing is also raised by 5
Lifesaving Expertise Teammate revive speed is increased by 20% Healing is increased by 5
Swelling Blessing Boosts power of buff effects issued by self by 25%
Refined Blessing Duration of buff effects issued by self extended by 25%

Defender Gems

Defender Gem Effects
Tailwind Agility increased by 10
Steel Protection Block Rate increased by 10%
Ultimate Counter Attack damage will deal 80% more damage when you take damage
Brimming Spirit Aggro generated when using Art is boosted by 20%
Perilous Presence Each battle is started with Aggro

Utility Gems

Utility Gem Effects
Ironclad HP increased to maximum by 100
Steady Striker Auto-attack interval is reduced by 15%
Doublestrike Adds 15% chance to strike twice per auto-attack
Empowered Combo Boost deals 25% more damage when canceling
Disperse Bloodlust Aggro generated when using Art is reduced by 20%
