Indie game publisher tinyBuild, known for hits like Hello Neighbor, Graveyard Keeper, and Potion Craft, has introduced a new monthly YouTube series called “How to Pitch Games.” This podcast aims to help independent developers refine their pitches and present their projects effectively to publishers. The first episode of this new podcast is now live, and we have linked it below for you if you want to check it out:
Each month, the show will feature two aspiring game developers who pitch their projects to a rotating panel of tinyBuild’s publishing team and other industry veterans. These experts provide detailed feedback to help the developers improve their presentations before formally approaching publishers. The first episode spotlights BabushCats, a cozy simulation game about a grandmother-run cat shelter developed by the student team Deez Games, and Floating Factory, a puzzle-based factory builder from Pushka Studios, a porting team branching into original game development.
The podcast not only offers practical pitching advice but also fosters a collaborative environment where developers can share ideas and learn industry best practices. By opening up the pitching process, tinyBuild hopes to inspire both established creators and newcomers to communicate their vision better and stand out in the crowded indie market.
Corey Caplan, tinyBuild’s Director of Business Development and Partner Licensing and the podcast’s host, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting developers. He said:
There’s so much feedback we’d love to provide to teams pitching us their games. Instead of making excuses, we made time for them. This podcast is our way of giving back to those who pour their hearts into their projects. If you’re passionate about your game, we want to help you get noticed in an increasingly competitive industry.
By tuning in, viewers will gain insider knowledge on crafting compelling pitches, while developers featured on the podcast receive personalized evaluations to enhance their proposals. The series also invites a broader audience of game makers to engage with and learn from real-world examples, helping them navigate the complex path from concept to publication.
The first episode of How to Pitch Games is now live, and you can check it out for tips and tricks if you are about to pitch your very first title to developers as well. Additional episodes will feature new developers, publishers, and their stories.
