Terraria has received one of its most substantial updates in recent years with the release of version 1.4.5, titled Bigger and Boulder, now available across PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.
The update introduces crossover content from Palworld and Dead Cells, alongside a wide range of quality-of-life improvements and new additions that build on Terraria’s long-running sandbox foundation.
Terraria Gets Bigger and Boulder Update Featuring Major Crossovers and Long-Requested Features
One of the headline additions in version 1.4.5 is the arrival of crossover content from other popular games. Creatures inspired by Palworld have been added to Terraria’s world, while Dead Cells contributes new weapons, combat accessories, and items drawn from its rogue-lite arsenal.
The crossovers expand Terraria’s already extensive item pool while remaining integrated into its existing progression systems, rather than functioning as standalone novelty content.

Beyond new content, Bigger and Boulder places a notable emphasis on refinement. According to the developers, the update addresses a range of long-standing community requests, with improvements aimed at smoothing progression, rebalancing combat, and modernizing parts of the experience that have remained unchanged for years.
Weapon reworks, balance adjustments, and visual updates to classic sprites are included, alongside numerous smaller quality-of-life changes intended to make the game more approachable without altering its core identity.

Expanded World Creation and New Content
Version 1.4.5 also expands Terraria’s world-building options. Players can experiment with new world seeds, including a newly added Skyblock seed, supported by a revamped world creation menu and improvements to existing seed types.
Additional content introduced in the update includes:
- Fifteen new furniture sets
- Five new boulder variants
- Four transformation mounts
- New whips and Summoner prefixes
- Kites, critters, and decorative features

These additions further grow Terraria’s already massive catalogue, which now includes thousands of items, dozens of NPCs, and hundreds of enemy types.
Originally released in 2011 and developed by Re-Logic on PC alongside DR Studios on console and mobile, Terraria has remained one of the most enduring success stories in modern gaming. Rather than winding down support, version 1.4.5 demonstrates an ongoing commitment to expanding and refining the game more than a decade after its debut.
With Bigger and Boulder, Terraria continues to evolve through a mix of collaboration, polish, and community-driven updates, reinforcing its position as a sandbox game that remains actively shaped by both its developers and its players. Back in 2021, Terraria’s developer suffered a massive setback when Google abruptly shut down all of the official accounts for the game, resulting in the cancellation of the title’s Google Stadia version.
