Firefly Studios has revealed a brand new trailer for Stronghold: Warlords which not only reveals the new PvP multiplayer but also the release date of the game. You will be happy to know that Stronghold: Warlords will release on September 29, 2020, on PC. Stronghold: Warlords is releasing nearly two decades after the original Stronghold title.
As revealed in the new trailer, Stronghold: Warlords will include full multiplayer functionality right at launch along with support for AI opponents and a unique co-op mode which will allow players to work together building, defending, and besieging the same enemy castle. Marketing Director at Firefly Studios, Nick Tannahill said:
Multiplayer will include the ability to play in teams with friends and against the AI, but also the option to control a single castle cooperatively. For instance, in co-op one player could handle the economy from the start while the other builds up an army. Then later during a siege that player could control defensive units like Fire Lancers and Archers, while the other triggers castle traps and puts out fires.

In multiplayer, players will also be able to use the new Warlords mechanic with the help of which, they will be able to gain the help of different smaller AI-powered castles spread across the map. Apart from the main factions, these smaller warlords will join anyone’s side if they are offered diplomacy or if all ways fail, players can use force to conquer these castles as well. Each warlord will come with its own unique archetypes and abilities that will benefit you greatly during battles.
Some of the tactics that your warlords will help you with include outnumber your enemies, encircle your enemies, boost your own economy, or crush your enemies with a decisive pincer movement. You can play all of this on Steam when the game comes out on September 29, 2020. The game will launch with full workshop support as well which will allow the fanbase to create historic citadels and custom maps and scenarios from day one.
