Spry Fox has announced that the spiritual successor to their game Realm of the Mad God, Steambirds Alliance is releasing next week on Steam. Steambirds Alliance is a free-to-play title and will allow massive numbers of players to join in the fun. The game is now releasing on Steam after more than 10,000 players tried the game in its open beta phase.
The final version of Steambirds Alliance will ship will plenty of new content and a lot of major improvements over the beta allowing new players and old ones jump in the game and enjoy it without any flaws. At its core, Steambirds Alliance is a free-to-play massively-cooperative, bullet-hell shooter in which players will join hands with their friends against the evil Meowza and her vile feline empire.
Since it is a free-to-play title, the game comes with Microtransactions however the developer claims that the game is not pay-to-win at any cost and the game has been worked upon especially to reduce griefing as much as possible to ensure that it is a fun team game. The full game will feature hundreds of unique enemies, a large number of secret missions and different plane types to experience and unlock.
Some of the new content that has been added to the game so far include:
- Meowza’s inner sanctum, a new and extremely difficult encounter for Veteran Steambirds
- Dungeon mods: Random mods on instances that ramp up both difficulty AND loot
- New types of enemies added to the Palace region of the overworld with a generous loot pool
- Lots of class and item rebalancing, making all classes and weapons equally viable
- Massive revamp of the pilot skill-tree
Some major performance improvements in the game include:
- Lots of server performance improvements to reduce lag experienced by players
- Lots of improvements to make the game easier to play and learn
- Lots of work on cheat detection systems to get rid of cheating cuckoos
Steambirds Alliance will be released exclusively on Steam on August 22, 2019.
