Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda has announced that Square Enix has plans for game-related announcements during the upcoming E3 2021. The developer and publisher is all set to launch NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 later this week and their next project is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade which will come out on PS5 exclusively on June 10, 2021.
This was announced by Square Enix president during an exclusive interview to Xtrend where the president also discussed breaking into the Chinese market and the company’s will to enter the Middle Eastern and South American markets along with the Chinese market. E3 2021 is taking place virtually this year and Square Enix will be part of the event. In his official statement to Xtrend, Matsuda said:
Outriders, which was delayed has released on April 1, 2021. And NieR Replicant will release this month as well. Final Fantasy VII Intergrade will release in June. We have several other games lined up, which we plan to announce at E3 2021 in June, so please look forward to these announcements.
Matsuda did not reveal any further details on what the publisher is planning to announce at the upcoming E3 2021 however we can expect DLC and expansion announcements among new game reveals too. For the time being, the studio’s focus is on the release of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 that is coming out on April 23, 2021, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is the remake or remaster of the 2010 action RPG that failed to get much traction and it sets up the story for Nier Automata, the mainstream title that actually put the franchise into the limelight.
