Rage 2 PC is out now and you might have noticed some issues is you have started playing the game. PC gamers have encountered a variety of issues that include crashing on launch, freezing, stuttering, FPS drops and graphics issues when playing the PC version of Rage 2. Rage 2 PC Error Fixes
The following are some errors that PC users are encountering and their solutions.
Cannot Launch, Cannot Find Rage 2 EXE File On PC
It is possible that your anti-virus program is interfering with the game. If that is the case then you will not be able to launch it. In some cases, you will get the error that states that the Rage2.exe file could not be found. If you need your anti-virus on then you can mark the exe file as an exception. That should solve the issue.
A simpler way of bypassing this issue is disabling the anti-virus software that you have installed when you are trying to play the game.
Rage 2 PC Crash Fix
If Rage 2 is crashing then it can either be a software problem or a hardware issue. Make sure that you are using the latest drivers for your hardware whether you are using a graphics card from Nvidia or AMD.
If it is a hardware issue then you should refer to the minimum and recommended hardware that the developer has provided. The Rage 2 PC requirements are as follows:

- Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Vega 56 8GB
- Hard Drive Space: 50GB
This should solve your problem if nothing happens when you try to launch Rage 2 on PC. If the game does not start and you get the error Faulting application name: RAGE2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5cd49c81 Faulting module name: amdvlk64.dll, version: 1.0.39.0, time stamp: 0x58fea4bf Exception code: 0xc0000005, then you need to delete the “amdvlk64.dll” file. Once you have done this the game should work just fine.
Error 40901 When Linking Bethesda Account Fix
If you are getting this error when connecting you Bethesda account then all you need to do is restart your PC and the issue will resolve itself.
Dual Monitor Error Fix
If you are trying to play Rage 2 PC with more than one monitor then you could have scaling issues. It is possible that the game is not showing up on the second display at all. There is no fix for the issue right now but the best workaround to get Rage 2 PC running on dual monitors is to turn the second monitor off while launching the game and then turning it back on again.
This will allow you to run the game on the primary display and while the game will only run on the primary display, the second one can be used for other applications.
Black Screen At Launch Fix
If you are getting a long black screen on launch then you are not the only one. A couple of PC users have reported the same issue. One fix is that you can press ALT+Enter. This will move the game into Windowed Mode and you will see the display. You can change back to fullscreen in the settings tab later.
No Audio From NPCs
It is possible that you have not selected the right audio channel. In order to fic this issue all you have to do is go into the sounds settings and click on “Playback”. Once there you need to select the active audio channel. Once done, click on configure and select the right audio channel for your setup. This should allow you to hear NPC audio just fine.
Fix Audio Lag and Stuttering
This issue can be caused by your audio drivers. You can try and reinstall your audio drivers to make sure that this is not the issue. You can also resolve this issue by setting Sound FX to 0 in Rage 2 PC.
If the issue is not fixed then go into Playback Devices and select your active audio device. Click the properties tab and click on enhancements. Uncheck all the enhancements and save the settings. This might solve your audio lag or stuttering.
Fatal Error Fix For Overclocked Graphics Cards
If you are getting a Fatal Error when playing Rage 2 PC then chances are that you have overclocked your graphics card. It is also possible that your card is factory overclocked. If you have overclocked your graphics card yourself then you need to bring it back to the stock frequencies.
If the card came factory overclocked out of the box then you need to reduce the clock speed by 100Mhz. You can do this by using software such as MSI Afterburner. If you do not want to play with the clock speeds of your graphics card then another fix is to play the game at locked 30 FPS. That will resolve the issue as well.
Low FPS, Gameplay Stuttering Fix
- Open Nvidia Control Panel
- Open Manage 3D settings
- Open Program Settings.
- Select Rage 2 from the drop-down list
