Orbyss is A Surreal Puzzle Game About Light, Logic, and Transformation and It Has an October Release Date

Developer and publisher Misty Whale has announced the release date for Orbyss, its upcoming surreal puzzle game about light, logic, and transformation. Orbyss is slated for release on October 27, 2025, when you will be able to enter the game’s glowing, fragmented world and experience logic-based puzzles. Orbyss’s release date was announced through a brand-new trailer, which showcased new gameplay, striking environments, and advanced late-game mechanics.

Orbyss features a visual treat for puzzle lovers in which you will explore a beautiful world and solve logic-based puzzles. You will switch between glowing Orbs to activate mechanics, manipulate time, and fly drones. Some puzzles also require sound for their solution. In this world filled with light and shadow, you will restore harmony through these puzzles. Each chapter in the game brings a new mechanic that gradually increases the challenge and complexity across more than 40 handcrafted rooms.

Each puzzle is unique and brings a different mechanic into play, ranging from time-freezing puzzles to musical logic and 3D drone navigation. The solo creator of the game, Yannick Audeoud, commented:

I wanted to create puzzles with strict rules and an almost mathematical aspect. The universe was built around this idea with balance in mind: blending strict geometry with bioluminescent life forms and sound-based gameplay mechanics. Pure logic contrasts with the almost organic living creatures and mysterious shadows taking over the world.

Apart from the beautiful art style, Orbyss also features an atmospheric soundtrack. Written by Pierre Esteve (Atlantis series), you will listen to an ambient, minimalistic score crafted with vintage synthesizers, rare instruments, and even custom-built machines. This combines to deliver a meditative, non-intrusive soundscape that supports the puzzles without becoming overwhelming for prolonged gaming sessions.
