Developer TRAGsoft and publisher Freedom Games have released a new video for their upcoming monster taming game Coromon which shares additional information about the game. The video arrives just in time to prepare players before the title’s release later this month. The new Coromon video reveals details on different in-game mechanics such as battle system, multiphase bosses, PVP, and much more.
Check out the video featurette below before we jump into additional details:
The video details that the battle system in Coromon revolves around three core components stats, traits, and skills. Skill types include three variants namely Physical, Special, and Status. You will need to ensure that your squad is well-balanced in all three of the skill types as the attack diversity plays a vital role in tense trainer battles.
The stamina is limited in the game and each Coromon skill that you use in the game depletes your overall stamina. You will have to devise a strategy for balancing your moves so that you do not run out of stamina during battles. You will have to pick one option during your move which will range from attacking, replenishing your stamina, or healing with an item. This makes strategy an important part of the combat.
Physical skills are directly dependent on your Coromon’s Attack stats. The more Attack stats your Coromon has, the more powerful your Physical skills become however you can combine them with other stats for an advantage as well. If you want to counter powerful Physical attacks, you can use Special Attacks which leave status effects on your enemies for lasting damage or effects.
Apart from that, you can also use Status skills to get some passive changes for your own Coromon or use them on the enemies. These range from weather summons, enemy debuffs, stat boost, and much more. You will have plenty of these to play around with within the game. If normal enemies do not pose much of a challenge to you, you can test your skills against the Coromon Titans.
These Coromon Titans are multiphase boss fights where you will need all of your fortitude and strategy to take them down. These boss fights change phases inflicting different field hazards, calling in backup, and many other complications which you will be able to experience when the game comes out later this month.
For more competitive players, Coromon will also ship with online PvP where players will be able to go head-to-head with players from around the world. Both casual and competitive ranked matches will satisfy everyone’s thirst for challenge. The online mode will help you find different strategies and finally move towards a personal battle style to suit more diverse battle situations.
Coromon is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac via Steam and Epic Game Store on March 31, 2022. The game was also featured in the 2021 E3 Freedom Games Show.
