NBA 2K20 Badges Guide

In this NBA 2K20 Badges Guide, we will show you what the badges in the game do, and what are their effects. The new game has introduced many new Badges with several of the returning Badges from the previous games. Aside from the older Badges, the game has now included 50 new Badges for players.

Badges are special abilities or moves that allow players to mix up the gameplay. Since these are special moves, they come inspired by real-life players and have been brought in the game using their moves. Badges allow your players’ abilities to not only finish in style but also pass, defend and make a play during attack or defense. Badges also come in four different rarities, which are Bronze, Silver, Gold and the Hall of Fame Badges.

Below we have detailed all of the Badges in the game that are in the four different categories.

Finishing Badges

All the Finishing Badges are detailed below.

Acrobat

This badge allows your ability a boost to perform more difficult layups. This means that Spin, half-spin, euro-step, hop step, cradle, reverse and change shot layup will be getting a greater boost.

Backdown Punisher

This badge allows more chances for your player to successfully back the opponent player. This will give you more success than normal when your player is backing down on a defender.

Consistent Finisher

Whenever you perform poorly at a released layup, your penalty is decreased with this badge. This means that the penalties for your badly timed layups are decreased, giving your player to go for more layups frequently.

Contact Finisher

This badge will greatly increase and improve the ability to dunk when a lot of players are around, and also improve the ability to convert any contact layups. This means that any player who goes for a dunk will have more success in performing contact dunks.

Cross-Key Scorer

Whenever your player is moving across the paint, the shot percentage will be a booster for layups. This means that your running hooks, layups or even close range pull-ups abilities will be boosted.

Deep Hooks

Your shot percentage is boosted whenever you attempt to shoot a hook from far.

Dropstepper

With this badge, your player will have the improved ability to perform dropsteps. This gives you more success whenever you attempt for a hop step or a post dropstep, while also being able to protect the ball in return.

Fancy Footwork

This badge will allow your player to beat the defenders effectively whenever you go for a a dunk gather or an advanced layup. This means your players will beat the defenders and slip past them more frequently and successfully.

Fastbreak Finisher

This badge will give your players Takeover meter a boost when you complete a dunk on a Fastbreak. This means that it gives your Takeover meter a little extra boost that can be the deal-breaker as you dunk on a Fastbreak.

Giant Slayer

With this badge, your players will have more layup effectiveness against the opponent teams tall defenders. This means that your player will have more chance to dodge a block when they are matched with a tall defender.

Shooting Badges

All the Shooting Badges are detailed below.

Catch & Shoot

With this badge your chances of performing a jump shot right after a catch are boosted. This means that for a short period of time your receiver’s shooting attributes will get a boost after they make a catch.

Clutch Shooter

This badge will increase your ability to knock down your shots during clutch moments.

Corner Specialist

Any shot your attempt from the corner is boosted with this badge. This means that shots taken from the baseline of the court get a boost, or even your mid-range 3 pointer attempts.

Deadeye

With this badge, any defender that is closing out will have a reduced impact on you. This means that whenever you go for jump shots during with the incoming defender that is closing in on you will have less penalty.

Deep Fades

With this badge, your attempts at post fadeaway from deep range will get increased chances of success. With this badge equipped, your attempts from the deep end of the post fadeaway will have less penalty than usual.

Difficult Shots

With this badge, your ability to perform difficult shots off the dribble is improved. This means that hop steps, spins, stepbacks sand pull-ups will all receive shot percentage boost.

Flexible Release

With this badge, any miss time jump shot of yours will get a reduced penalty. This means that it will reduce the margin of mistiming a jump shot whether you shoot early or late, effectively saving you from a penalty.

Green Machine

Whenever you perform excellent releases, you will receive a bonus consecutively. With this badge you can perform excellent jump shots with their release to get additional bonus.

Hot Start

With this badge, every time your player makes the first shot, their ability is improved. This works only until your player misses. This badge is effective from the starting of the game, but stops when you have your first miss.

Playmaking Badges

All the Playmaking Badges are detailed below.

Ankle Breaker

This badge will allow you to increase the chances of dropping or freezing a defender when you are performing dribbling moves. This means that whenever you perform a dribble move, the defender will stumble and fall more frequently.

Bail Out

This badge gives you more chances of completing a pass from mid-air successfully.

Break Starter

This badge will improve your player’s ability to make outlet passes whenever they grab a rebound. This means that deep passes after grabbing the ball will be more accurate.
