In this Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Monsters Guide, we will show you how you can defeat all the newly introduced monsters in the Iceborne expansion of the game. In total there are 31 new monsters introduced in this massive expansion, which adds a mix of large and small monsters.

Our guide will help you understand the weaknesses, attacks and how you can best take down each of the new monsters in the game. If you are aware of a monster’s weakness and have a clear strategy in mind before you take on a monster, you can beat every monster easily.

Below we have detailed how you can beat all the monsters in the new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion.

Brachydios

This monster relies on producing powerful explosions that can take you out in an instant. It produces slime that can explode after a little while. Getting hit with its hand can also inflict the player with slime and take explosive damage. This monster is weak to water and you can use that for your advantage.

Shrieking Legiana

This monster produces an attack from its tail that can cause freezing damage. Since this is an ice-based monster, using thunder and fire for your attacks can be very effective in taking this monster down. This monster does not have a lot of health so you can quickly end the fight.

Banbaro

This new monster is a very intimidating and large horned bull type monster that loves to charge towards you. Its ranged attack involves digging its horns in the ground and launching any debris like rocks and stone towards your location. It also loves to charge which means that you will be dodging a lot.

The best weak spot that Banbaro has is its head, however, to attack its head is easier said than done. Still, you can also mix up with poison damage as Banbaro is weak to poison and paralysis.

Acidic Glavenus

This monster loves to slash with its tail, and it is no surprise considering that its tail is a blade laced with acid. This monster will drain your stamina by dodging and running around. If you get caught in its attacks, you will be dealt with acid and armor-piercing damage. Your best bet here is to dodge its attacks at the right moment and not draining your stamina too much. Meanwhile, you should mix up with your own attacks during the fight.

Ebony Odogaron

This monster is even quicker in attacks than the normal Odogaron. Its attack can block all your elemental power in your weapon. It has the same dragon based attacks but is more agile and brutal from what we  were previously used to.

Viper Tobi-Kadachi

This monster loves to attack with poison damage and will always look for chances to deal poison on you. If you are not careful, you will be caught in its poisonous smoke. To best take down this monster, use your main attacks but come stacked with a lot of antidotes for poison.

Nightshade Paolumu

This monster can make you weak with its dangerous fumes that it shoots towards your location. It is best to come with items that can shake off its effect. Otherwise, you will be knocked out in no time.

Velkhana

This monster is the boss of the Hoarfrost Reach and will take a lot of time to defeat. It not only produces ice attacks but also shoots ice from its mouth. If that is not enough, it will swing its tail to stab you. If you are looking to stop it from shooting ice from its mouth, you need to break the ice that covers its body.

Fulgur Anjanath

This monster is based on using electric attacks on its victims. It can electrocute you if you get caught in its attack. It notes only has close-range attacks, but can also spit out electric projectiles towards your locations. The weak spots of this monster are its tail that can be severed, or when you break off the purple thingy on its head.se

Beotodus

This monster loves to stay in the snow, and the best way to deal with damage to this monster is to first clear out the snow from its back. This will allow the monster to come out of the snow, and reveal its legs. After knocking off all snow, you can then start attacking its legs.

Barioth

This monster prefers you in close range with its slash attacks and leaps. However, if you are far away, it can sling ice towards your location. You will have a tough time hitting this monster from close range as it is quite quick and unpredictable with its attacks. Just make sure you can land a hit when you are close to it. Mix up your attack and then keep your distance.

Glavenus

This is a fire based monster that is weak to water. Its attack is based on it using its tail for sweeping tail attacks, and when it uses mouth to heat its tail for fire attack. You have to be careful with its bite attacks as they are also covered with fire damage. if you want to reduce this monster’s range, you need first break off its tail, and then continue the barrage of attacks on its head.

Nargacuga

This monster will primarily focus on physical attacks but can also shoot spikes from its tail that will deal a lot of damage. It can also leap towards your location with the help of its wings and strong legs. The best way to take this monster down is to wait around and let it drain its energy with its attacks. Then you can begin your own attacks and deal damage.

Tigrex

Tigrex is no joke in the new expansion. As this monster returns from the previous monster hunter titles, it comes with its quick attacks, lunges and leaps. The best way to avoid its damage is to keep your distance from its close-ranged attacks.

The best damage to deal damage is Tigrex’s head and legs which are the weak spots.
