Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Green Energy Crystals Guide – How to Get, Rewards

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Green Energy Crystals Guide

In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Green Energy Crystals are more than just a collectible. They play an important role in reaching the game’s ending. You need to collect many of these crystals. As you gather more crystals, you unlock helpful bonuses and rewards that make exploration and combat much easier. In this Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Green Energy Crystals Guide, we will show you the best locations to find Green Energy Crystals and the specific rewards you will unlock at each step.

How to Get Green Energy Crystals in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

There are three main ways to earn Green Energy Crystals, and all of them are centered around Sol Valley.

Crystal Formations in Sol Valley

Throughout the desert, you will find large green crystal formations. Breaking these formations rewards you with Green Energy Crystals.

You can destroy them by:

  • Firing Missiles
  • Striking them with Vi-O-La

Since these formations are everywhere, it is a good habit to break them whenever you pass by.

Gibardaum Rocks in Sol Valley

Some areas in Sol Valley contain large metallic rocks near green crystal clusters. These are known as Gibardaum Rocks.

They can only be destroyed using the Psychic Power Bomb, which is unlocked while working toward the fifth Master Teleporter Key. These rocks contain a large number of Green Energy Crystals, making them very valuable.

Shrines in Sol Valley

Sol Valley contains six Shrines, which are mainly used to earn upgrades for elemental shots. Inside these Shrines, you will also find containers filled with Green Energy Crystals. Simply, you can break these containers by firing Missiles to collect the crystals inside.

Once you unlock the Green Energy Crystal Finder at 75% completion, remaining crystals will appear on your radar, making your job much easier.

If your radar shows nothing:

  • Carefully explore the outer edges and perimeter of Sol Valley
  • Slowly move outward in concentric paths from Chrono Tower

This method is usually only needed if you’re trying to fully fill the meter with blue energy. Every Green Energy Crystal you collect fills a progress meter found on the left side of the Mission menu. As this meter fills, new rewards become available. These rewards are claimed by visiting the Altar of Legacy in Fury Green once certain percentages/thresholds are reached. One of the 100% rewards is required to finish the game, making crystal collection unavoidable for completion of the game.

Green Energy Crystal Rewards

The section below shows what you receive as the meter fills:

25% Completion – Psychic Beam Upgrade – Improves both the speed and damage of the Psychic Beam, making combat more efficient.

50% Completion – Control Beam Boost – Enhances the firing speed of the Control Beam.

75% Completion – Green Energy Crystal Finder – Adds Green Energy Crystals to your radar, making it much easier to locate remaining crystals across Sol Valley.

100% Completion – Memory Fruit & Legacy Suit – The Memory Fruit is required to complete the game & the Legacy Suit grants Samus the ability to activate a protective barrier.

Once the meter reaches 100% green, it does not stop there. Any extra Green Energy Crystals you collect will begin filling the meter with blue color instead. If you manage to collect every Green Energy Crystal in the game, filling the meter with blue, you will unlock additional visual content in the gallery.
