Below we have detailed how to defeat Master Xehanort in the game.

How to Defeat Master Xehanort

Master Xehanort is a tough boss to beat, and who can overwhelm you with his follow up combos. While you get many openings for a counter-attack, you are best dodging and guarding his combos attacks until you see a chance to strike back.

Master Xehanort not only produces projectile attacks but also has his beam attacks and beam cannons. Once you enter the battle, you might get to face his beam cannon attack that shoots beams of light all over the place. He also sends purple orbs that slowly reach your location and follow you as you dodge them away. After the attack the boss will reappear at the center of the stage, opening the best attacking window for you.

Over time, Master Xehanort will also send forth some large projectiles shaped like spikes. These spikes come spinning towards you and can only be avoided if you have the glide ability to dodge their trajectory. After the attack, this boss will reappear and will be open to receive attacks for a short period. This is another opportunity to hit him with your own attacks.

In the second stage of the fight, which is indicated by his health depleting to 50%, Master Xehanort will rely on attacking you with a series of consecutive moves. This involves the Beam and the normal attack, along with a new attack that sends dark shadows that attack you. All of the attacks can be guarded except the beam attack which will require you to dodge and move around. Otherwise, you will be a sitting duck taking in all the hits and damage.

Once you have defeated Master Xehanort, you will be rewarded with the Master Belt. This item will increase the effectiveness of your Defense, and will also slightly boost your Dark Resistance.
