How to Get a Ladder in Animal Crossing New Horizons

This guide will show you how you can get the crafting recipe for the Ladder in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The ladder allows you to access new areas in not only our island but other islands as well. As you may have noticed, there are higher locations on your islands that you will not be able to access until you can somehow climb it. This is where a Ladder will come in pretty handy, just like the Vaulting Pole which allows you to jump over rivers.

How to Get a Ladder in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The Ladder is obtained after you have well settled in the early stages of the game, and after you have plenty of other important items at hand, like the Vaulting Pole and other tools. To specifically get the Ladder, you first need a crafting recipe that can only be acquired from Tom Nook.

The first thing you need to do is to get the Store going on your island. This is where you first need to collect all the materials required by Tim Nook, and then allowing him to build a store for the Island and its inhabitants.

The second task at hand is to clear off your debt for a house on the island. This can be done by collecting various bugs, other sellable items, and completing certain tasks. The final task is to build a bridge for Tom Nook after talking to him at the Resident Services. Choose a location that you see fit and collect the materials required to build the bridge.

When you complete building a bridge on your island, Tom Nook will give you some rewards that will also include the DIY crafting recipe to build a ladder. Now you can craft your own Ladder, with 4 Wood, 4 Hardwood, and 4 Softwood.

Now you can use your Ladder to climb up higher to previously inaccessible locations and collect more items from there. The Ladder will also join your tool belt and can be accessed by the ring tool menu if you have it unlocked.
