How to Find and Beat Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

One of the bosses you will be facing in Star Wars Jedi Survivor is Rancor, the Legendary Enemey that is found when you are exploring Koboh. The Legendary Beast is located a the Sodden Grotto on Koboh and will be a part of the “Find Missing Prospectors” rumor. This guide will show you how to find and beat Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor and what rewards you will get after beating the boss.

How to Find and Beat Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

To find the Rancor, you will first need to talk to a woman NPC found just outside the Rambler’s Reach outpost fast travel point. From the workbench, head outside the gate of the town and you will find a woman standing next to the building. Talking to her will give you the “Find Missing Prospectors” rumor.

This will begin your quest to find the Rancor at the Sodden Grotto in Koboh. The entrance is Hunter’s Quarry and is quite close to the last fast-travel point.

How to Beat Rancor

Rancor is a tough beast that you will be fighting against. But you can win the battle if you know the boss’ attacks, and find an opportunity for a counter-attack.

The two most common or basic attacks that Rancor begins with are a claw slam and a ground stomp that. This second attack sends out a shockwave that you need to avoid by dodging away. However, instead of dodging either of the two basic attacks, you can parry them to deplete the boss’ block meter, forcing a stagger. This effectively allows you to counter-attack with a couple or more hits.

The Rancor doesn’t always rely on basic attacks and has two more devastating attacks that can immediately kill Cal and end the battle. The most powerful attack is when the Rancor tries to charge and grab Cal. This attack guarantees Cal’s Death, meaning that you have to avoid it at all costs.

The grab attack begins when the Rancor pulls its left arm back, where it will begin to glow red, and then lunge at Cal to grab him. You need to dodge twice to completely miss the grab and to make sure that you don’t get caught in it.

The second powerful attack is where the Rancor will slam on the ground with both of its hands. This attack is also indicated by the glowing red light, alerting you of the incoming attack that Rancor is charging up for. The attack sends out a shockwave which is best avoided if you jump over the waves.

That’s all the attacks that the Rancor has, but it will keep you busy at all times, looking out for attacks and trying to dodge them. You need to take it slow, anticipate and dodge the attacks, and patiently return with your own hits. Eventually, the boss will die and you will win this battle.

Defeating the Rancor will give you a Shatter Perk essence that you can now equip on Cal. This perk lets you break an enemy’s block meter more effectively.
