Fatshark has announced the brand-new DLC class Hive Scum, coming to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide next month. Announced through a cinematic trailer, the Hive Scum class is a chaotic class that comes screaming from the depths of the hive. Their only goal is to spread destruction and cause as much mayhem as possible. Hive Scum are dangerous cartel fixers that represent the criminal powers that truly run Tertium from the underground.
Just like all other classes in the game, Hive Scum comes with its own unique strengths and weaknesses. Having been based in the underground of Tertium, Hive Scum has access to dangerous concoctions that are not available to anyone else. This is evident from their signature customization Stimm, which allows you to pick your own personal chemical mix while balancing bonuses to tear up your enemies. The class also comes with a toxin kit, along with Chem Bombs that allow you to control the streets.
Hive Scum is also the first class in Darktide to have true dual-wielding. It will allow you to twin-wield pistols and take out enemies with increased firepower. For melee lovers, the class allows you to dual-wield shivs for dual slashing at close ranges. The class excels at using makeshift weaponry from crude shivs, brutal crowbars, to cruel saws. Depending on your mood, you can either take out enemies from afar while dual-wielding your weapons or switch to brutal melee weapons for closer action.
One thing that you will find common in both approaches is that Hive Scum is brutal, and they do not hold back. Using your abilities, you will tear through the enemies, control massive enemy crowds using Blind Grenades, and drop elites and monsters by using your powerful missile launcher. The DLC also comes with reimagined full-body tattoos, gritty hairstyles, and brand-new face-paints.
Hive Scum is the second DLC class to arrive in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide after the Arbites class, which was released earlier in the summer. If you are interested in checking out the Hive Scum class when it launches on December 2, 2025, you can add it to your wishlist. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently out on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
