Yesterday Microsoft announced that it has acquired the video game giant Bethesda for a whopping $7.5 billion. Bethesda is well-known for its various franchises including The Elder Scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstein, and Fallout. Following the news of this acquisition, everyone started wondering about the future of the two PS5 exclusive titles earlier announced by Bethesda, namely Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop.
However, Phil Spencer has officially commented that Xbox will honor the exclusivity deal of Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop as both of them will remain timed exclusives for the PS5 console. This was revealed by Jason Schreier on Twitter who detailed that Xbox will honor the deal previously held for both titles. Furthermore, all future Bethesda titles will be decided on a case by case basis which would mean that some future Bethesda titles might not ever come on PS5.
To answer the question everyone is asking: Phil Spencer tells @dinabass that Xbox plans to honor the PS5 exclusivity commitment for Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo.
Future Bethesda games will be on Xbox, PC, and "other consoles on a case by case basis." https://t.co/Agyttr53LO

While this certainly means good news for all Xbox and PC players who use Xbox Game Pass because this means that all future Bethesda titles will be available with the Xbox Game Pass right from day one with their subscription. The Xbox Game Pass is starting to become an amazing service because later this year, EA Play is also coming to Xbox Game Pass and with now Bethesda part of the deal as well, this could mean really good for Xbox Game Pass players.
FUN NOTE: Sony had been negotiating timed exclusivity on Starfield as recently as a few months ago. Going to guess either those talks are done or the price suddenly went way, way up.

Kinda Funny’s Imran Khan also Tweeted that until some months ago, Sony was in talks with Bethesda for an exclusivity deal for the upcoming Starfield. This also shows that the deal did not take too long to finalize, and it started only a few months ago. Players on Xbox consoles and PC have certainly a bright future ahead while PlayStation players might lose some games from one of the biggest video game companies. However, only time will tell how Microsoft moves forward with the acquisition of Bethesda.
