How to Get Fire Resistance in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Fire resistance is important when you need to go to areas that can otherwise burn you up very quickly. Areas such as the Goron regions in Eldin require you to be fireproof or have fire resistance if you want to successfully venture inside these areas.

Fire Resistance from Elixir Recipes

You can brew Elixirs with specific ingredients that can give fire resistance buffs. To brew an elixir that gives fire resistance, you need Fireproof Lizards or Smotherwing Butterflies mixed with monster parts to make a consumable elixir. When consumed, the elixirs will give you a fire resistance buff that will last for a short time. To increase their duration, add in as many fireproof insects when brewing the elixir.

You can find Smotherwing Butterflies in Gerudo Highlands or Elding Canyon, while the Fireproof Lizards can be found in Elding Canyon or Mountain.

Other Ways to Ge Fire Resistance

If you don’t want to consume an elixir but want to know other ways how you can make yourself fireproof, you can do so by purchasing fireproof armor. The armor that provides a fire resistance buff is the Flamebreaker armor that can be bought from Goron City.

Although you can get the full armor to complete the Flamebreaker armor set, you only need one piece of the armor to get the fire resistance buff. The cheapest piece of this armor set is the Flambreaker Chest Piece, which will cost you 700 rupees.
