Developer and publisher Qourum Games has announced a brand-new demo for its upcoming fantasy RPG Call of Elyndra. The new demo will allow you to try out the game’s key features of fishing. You will be able to fish for a variety of species found in waters throughout the Elyndra. The developers will also host a fishing competition through Discord, and players can compete in it for bragging rights, digital rewards, and some friendly banter. Call of Elyndra is a 2.5D, top-down RPG, where you will create your character, nurture the land, and fight to protect the city of Elyndra.
Check out the latest Teaser Trailer for the game:
In its latest demo, you will be invited to the coveted local fishing spot in the Village of Elyndra, where you will discover a wide variety of species, all yours for the catching. Using some worms or shad as bait on your hook, you can try your luck to catch some fish such as a Common Sunfish, Bass, Trout, Rare Koi, or a Golden Trout. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also try to catch the Mythical Lanternfish. The game’s demo features three rarity levels for each fish, and these are gradually unlocked as you catch more fish of the same type.
You can tap to fine-tune the position, and press and hold the mouse to reel the fish in. The dynamic ‘fish band’ moves up and down the reeling meter, simulating the struggling fish and making it easier for you to catch them. Each fish will behave differently, and you will feel each catch unique, with the size and movement of the fish affecting it.
Key features of the Fishing Demo include:
- Scenic Views: Feast your eyes on the vibrant beauty of Elyndra’s most coveted local fishing spot.
- Exotic Species: Cast and collect 6 unique fish species ranging from Common, Rare, and Mythical, using 2 different bait options.
- Skill-Gated: Players must land 3 catches in a row before Rare species appear, and 5 in a row for Mythical.
- Clever Fishing Controls: Enjoy intuitive ‘Hold & Tap’ controls: Press and hold to reel in, and tap to fine-tune your fishing position in the dynamic target window. It’s as easy as that!
Call of Elyndra is a top-down adventure game where you find yourself in the village of Elyndra, which is under threat by an empire seeking to seize its lands. You arrive here and start living your life as you try to gain the trust of your community. You can experience the game in two distinctive gameplay styles. You can manage your estate by planting crops, fishing, raising livestock, and selling goods at the town market to earn gold.
You will also engage in combat where you can chain unique combinations of different fighting styles with your sword and bow while perfecting your timing on dodge rolls. You can increase your reputation by completing dangerous quests that will take you into dungeons where you will solve puzzles and fight boss fights. A combat Skill Tree will help you level up and become more powerful.
Call of Elyndra is slated for an Early Access release on PC via Steam later this year. A free demo is currently available on Steam for you to try out the game. However, this is not the fishing demo as it will arrive soon, so do not confuse the two demos with each other.
