historia Inc. has released a major update for Faaast Penguin, its free-to-play survival racing game, kicking off Season 9 with a new jungle-themed world titled “Jungle Jamboree.” The update, which goes live on February 5, 2026, also removes the requirement for an Epic Games account and introduces in-game voice chat.
With the new update, players can jump into online races without creating or linking an Epic Games account, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for new players. Those who choose to connect an Epic Games account can still take advantage of cross-platform progression and use Epic’s friends list for party invites, but account linking is now entirely optional.
Season 9 Jungle Jamboree Brings a New Map, Mechanics, and Trash Talk to Faaast Penguin
Party play has also been expanded through the addition of in-game voice chat. Players can communicate with party members during races and create or join parties even without being on each other’s friends lists, streamlining the process of grouping up and jumping into matches together.
Season 9 introduces Jungle Jamboree, a new Amazon-inspired world featuring four courses set across dense forests, winding rivers, and elevated treetop paths. The new tracks add environmental hazards and mischievous monkeys that disrupt races and open up alternative routes through each course.
One of the update’s headline mechanics is the Monkey gameplay gimmick. When triggered, monkeys can grab and carry players forward, with the option to launch at the right moment for speed boosts or strategic positioning. Skilled players can chain monkey interactions together, creating high-risk shortcuts and new ways to navigate each course.
Alongside the season launch, a limited-time event titled “Hamster Paradise” is currently live through February 11 at 8:00 PM PST. The event allows players to race as hamster characters and earn exclusive cosmetic items through in-game challenges and the shop. Players can also earn a 5x Season Pass point bonus until February 4 at 8:00 PM PST, making it easier to unlock remaining Season 8 rewards before they rotate out.
The removal of mandatory account linking and the addition of voice chat reflect a broader push to make Faaast Penguin more accessible and social. By reducing friction at the entry point while adding new cooperative tools, the Season 9 update strengthens the game’s appeal as a quick, chaotic multiplayer experience that’s easy to jump into with friends.
Faaast Penguin is free to play and supports cross-platform multiplayer on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Online play does not require Nintendo Switch Online or PlayStation Plus subscriptions.
