Frontier Announces Dunes and Moons, The First Major Update for Stranded: Alien Dawn

Stranded: Alien Dawn Dunes and Moons

Frontier and Haemimont Games have announced the first major update dubbed Dunes and Moons for Stranded: Alien Dawn and it is right around the corner. The Dunes and Moons update will be released for Stranded: Alien Dawn on December 1, 2022, and it will bring exciting new features for all players. If you are currently playing Stranded: Alien Dawn, you can expect a stunning new desert biome, three powerful moons, and a lot more in the new update when it drops later this week.

Leading the update is the new desert biome called Desertum which is an all-new alien environment that will put your group of survivors through a new set of challenges to face. Desertum brings a rocky, orange-hued landscape to the game with scarce plant life and soil quality requiring a strategic approach to ensure that your survivors can truly thrive in the harsh environment. It will bring its own native flora and fauna along with unpredictable weather events which include dust storms. You will need to utilize everything that Desertum has to offer to ensure your survival through the wet and dry seasons.

Apart from the new biome, Stranded: Alien Dawn is also getting a new survivor called Sora Satoh. Sora Satoh has been hardened for survival, thanks to her difficult past. She also has good combat skills which makes her a good option if you want to boost up your defenses against the attacking alien fauna. The new biome also brings new alien species such as the reptilian Tecatli which is a new threat that you will be facing in the game along with familiar old ones. Apart from the new alien species, another new element to ramp up the challenge even further has found its way into the game as well.

The new update also adds three new moons to Stranded: Alien Dawn and each of these moons will have a unique effect on the gameplay. The new moons are called Jason, Nyx, and Chaos and each one brings a different challenge into the play when it rises during the night. Jason increases the adversity level, but it gives you enough time to prepare from previous attacks and recover as well. Nyx directly affects the alien species found on the planet, making them more hostile and dangerous during the night, which ultimately leads to more alien attacks during the night. Finally, Chaos is the ultimate challenge, and its name suggests what it does to the entire planet if it rises up in the sky.

If you have found Stranded: Alien Dawn a little too easy so far, the new update is bringing two new difficulty modes to the game as well. The new Very Hard and Insane difficulty settings will allow you to experience the toughest challenge in the game so far. You will get five new achievements alongside this to show off to your friends that you can handle whatever the game can throw at you.

If you are yet to dive into the brutal world of Stranded: Alien Dawn yet, you can do so right now as the game is available on Steam in Early Access.
