Developer and publisher Funcom has announced the release of Dune Awakening: Chapter 2, a free content update for the game alongside its first paid DLC, Lost Harvest. The free DLC brings new story content, contracts, character hairstyles, and tattoos, along with dynamic encounters that bring life into the ever-shifting deserts of Dune. The paid DLC is called Lost Harvest DLC, and it offers a new standalone storyline along with new Dune Man building pieces, new decorations, cosmetic armor sets, and more.

Chapter 2 allows you to continue the journey after the revelations at the end of Act 3. You will investigate gruesome murders and delve into the distant past as you re-customize your character, discover new contracts, items, character hairstyles, and tattoos alongside dynamic encounters that will make exploring the vast deserts of Dune more exciting. The Free Update is now live for all players across all platforms, and you can continue the story after just updating the game to its latest version.

The Lost Harvest DLC is now available across all platforms for $12.99. It brings a brand-new standalone storyline to Dune: Awakening, which allows you to dig deep into the lore of the game. The DLC brings new Dune Man building pieces, new decorations, cosmetic armor sets and weapons, swatches, and the Thumper emote. The new treadwheel vehicle is also part of the DLC, which gives you an alternative to the sandbike. It features unique animations and handling without a significant gameplay advantage over the original sandbike to make it a fair addition to the game.
To celebrate the arrival of the free update and paid DLC, Funcom has announced a massive 20% discount for Dune: Awakening, along with a free weekend. Starting September 11, 2025, players will be able to jump into the game for free. You can pick any server to play with friends who own the game and enjoy the complete Dune: Awakening experience over the entire weekend. All progress is permanently saved, so if you decide to pick the game up later, you can continue from that exact same spot where you left it. The discount runs through September 22, 2025, giving you ample time after the free trial to buy it at a discounted price.
Dune: Awakening is now available on PC via Steam. The Dune Awakening: Chapter 2 is now available for all players for free, while the Lost Harvest is now available to purchase for $12.99. The free Dune: Awakening trial will run from September 11 to 22, 2025.
