Your job is to eliminate all the viruses in each stage with pills. These pills come in various colors that need to be matched with the colors of the viruses in order to destroy the nasty creatures.

Game Modes
The game offers two game modes for you to play. There is a Dr. Mario World: Stage and a Versus. Stage mode is just like the classic mode where you have to complete each of the stages one at a time. The stage starts with a board containing the viruses that you have to clear before you run out of your Pills.
The Versus mode is for you to play against other players. The fight is not against each other, but a race to finish off the viruses in the most efficient way. The best player will win the round. Winning Versus matches will give you battle points that rank you. The higher the rank, the more rewards you will get.
Choosing a Doctor
There are many doctors that you can choose in the game. However, you are given a choice of three at the starting of the game. The three characters that you can choose are Mario, Peach, and Bowser. Any other doctor you want can be unlocked through in-game purchases.
Each of the three mentioned characters come with their own special ability:
Dr. Mario
- Clears 1 row in the lowest position in Stage mode.
- Clears 1 bottom row in Versus mode.
Dr. Peach
- Clears 1 random column in any mode
Dr. Bowser
- Clears 2 random horizontal rows in Stage mode
- Clears 1 random horizontal step in Versus Mode.
Controlling Pills
When a pill appears on the board, you have to rotate it to the correct order of color. This will ensure that you are eliminating viruses and not wasting any pills. Pils start moving upwards when released, once you are satisfied with the position of the pill, you can drag the pill towards the viruses to save time.
If you want more bonus points, you need to save pills at the end of a stage. Getting rid of all the viruses and still ending up with pills in your inventory will give guarantee bonus points.
Hire Assistants
The game also has a feature that allows you to hire Assistants. These can be unlocked after you spend 4,000 in the shop. Doctors in the game can have 2 Assistants at a time. Each Assistant offers a boost of performance for you.
For example, if you have Blooper as your assistant, it will give you a 10% chance of getting a single colored pill. If you go for Goombas, they will give you a 1% score boost in Stage mode.
Doctor’s Orders Challenges
The game also offers challenges for you to complete in return for rewards. The Doctor’s Orders are various tasks that you have to complete while playing. Completing the Doctor’s Orders will reward you with coins that you can use to unlocking assistants or other items.
Doctor’s Orders unlocks after you reach level 20. Once unlocked it will dish out daily quests for you to complete.
