Rainy Frog and Masala Games have officially announced the Nintendo Switch release date for their upcoming title, Detective Dotson. Detective Dotson releases on Nintendo Switch on October 31, 2025. Filled with Bollywood flair, the upcoming title Detective Dotson will bring its charm and humor to players on Nintendo’s flagship devices as soon as next month. Already available on PC, this game has managed to gather quite a cult following, with its current reviews representing a ‘Very Positive’ rating.

Detective Dotson is set in the colorful streets of India and revolves around the story of Dotson, who is trying to hunt down the truth behind his father’s murder. The game sits right with similar titles such as Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright, but it brings its own desi tarka into the mix. Dotson is not your everyday James Bond-style detective or agent, but a rather humble aspiring Bollywood star who has to put on his detective cap after his father is killed. The game features a gripping mystery, and you will need to inspect clues and uncover the secrets behind the crime.
You will need to piece together clues on your evidence board, which you will collect by chatting with locals. Naturally, some people will be happy to provide information, while some will require you to complete a favor or two for them before spilling the beans. In these interactions, you will need to complete some cheeky fetch quests, which will lead to surprising twists.
